A Tesla Cybertruck owner shares that he has driven his truck for 50,000 miles and that it’s been the most reliable vehicle he's ever owned.

Ironically, the Cybertruck owner works as an environmental compliance tester, inspecting gas stations and similar facilities for leaks and other environmental concerns.

However, his vehicle of choice for his job assessing gas stations is his all-electric Cybertruck.

Because of his work, the Cybertruck owner drives quite a bit each day—more than 100 miles—and also carries over 1,000 pounds of equipment.

Despite these long drives and heavy gear, he praises his electric truck as the most dependable vehicle he's ever had.

He shares that he previously drove trucks from Ford, Chevy, and GMC, and after around 50,000 miles, he faced costly transmission repairs on all of them.

However, with his Cybertruck, everything has been smooth sailing.

The satisfied Cybertruck owner shared his experience on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum.

He writes…

“Well, I reached 50,000 miles in my Cybertruck today. The warranty is gone, and now I feel like I'm in a starship heading to Mars, alone and unsure of when something might fail.

It's okay, though; this truck has been more reliable than any other truck I've owned.

Driving over 100 miles a day for work, using every feature, and carrying 1,000 pounds of equipment daily for environmental compliance testing, construction, towing, camping, and off-roading.

By now, the Chevy, GMC, and Ford trucks I've owned needed major repairs; transmissions were the worst, and daily driving costs were high. That sucked compared to the cost of my Cybertruck.

So far, everything seems to be going very well. However, the Cybertruck owner notes that, since the Cybertruck is a battery electric vehicle, unlike his previous internal combustion trucks, he has discovered even more unexpected benefits.

He adds that when he goes camping, he brings solar-powered generators to the campsite and uses the sun to power both the campsite and his vehicle.

He continues to write…

“With my two Jackery 2000 Plus Explorer solar generators and 1600 watts of solar panels, remote adventures are worry-free during camping for days.

No sound, no fuel, no extra cost- just 240 V, 28 amps pushing electrons into the truck.”

The Cybertruck owner adds that, so far, the only drawback to owning the all-electric vehicle is how divisive it has become and the negative political attention it attracts.

He writes…

“It's been an exciting, fun, and politically charged adventure. Those people suck. It was like being around a bunch of monkeys who only have one feeling: hate.”

However, as the political tension around Tesla eases, he mentions he’s beginning to enjoy the vehicle.

He continues…

Now that the political shenanigans have settled down a bit, I'm back to enjoying my daily drive along the coast, through the Central Valley, and in the Sierra Nevada while FSD takes over, just relaxing.

There's much more to say, but someone else already said it.”

Below his post, the Cybertruck owner included several pictures. The pictures show his Cybertruck parked at a gas station loaded with environmental compliance testing equipment.

Overall, this Cybertruck owner appears happy driving his truck for work every day. However, please let me know what you think in the comments.

The monkeys he's referring are the crazy white people who hate anyone driving a Tesla. People vandalizing, keying, scratching, flicking off that are found in the recordings. Not blacks that you are referring too. I'm not white but am an owner to this technology nobody appreciates because of politics. Who cares of what people think. I'm embracing this technology just like you guys who used smartphones. If Apple or Google had political views you didn't believe in, you would stop using their phones? Give me a break!

Start pulling something heavy like a boat or horse trailer, then tell us how you feel. Most people buys light trucks to pull. No electric would last very long doing that.

Tow a 4 horse live-in horse Trl w a light truck is asking for problems. I use a 350 Ford. Used to use a 250 Ford. Neither were light trucks.
EVs are not replacing gas or diesel trucks just yet so we shouldn’t compare. No equipment weight given from the gent who likes his for his work.
This Tesla is a good start with happy 50,000 mile owners.

Know this, the lithium ion battery in your truck is a ticking time bomb. If you are unfortunate enough to get into a crash, get away from the vehicle IMMEDIATELY. If the battery case is compromised a liquid chemical fire WILL OCCUR, and it CANNOT BE EXTINGUISHED. The vehicle will burn in its entirety, frame and all. The smoke and fumes from this fire are LETHAL if inhaled. If your truck ends up upside down you may not be able to escape the vehicle, the doors will not open. If a fire starts you will not survive, this has already happened and a man lost his life because he could not escape. These circumstances are known to the NTSB. They have decided to do nothing, so beware.

Understandable how he feels. Big 3 engineering and quality have gotten so bad. Shouldn't be that hard to beat them in dependability.

Still would worry about crashes that lead to being burnt alive that you would normally walk away from other vehicles. The multiple deaths from tesla crashes could have been survived by other vehicles.

Hey tell elon I say hi next time you're visiting...seriously...1 cybertruck owner... could this be a more cheesy article....well I have 4 mechanic friends who say gm trucks are better...so there

Dave (not verified)    November 24, 2025 - 10:26PM

There is no actual owner. This article was poached from an alleged cybertruck owner club website/web page. Why is this being presented as an actual story? Highly unlikely that an owner of a gmc and Ford truck would mention that a cybertruck is more reliable. The track record of the tesla truck is well documented and is inferior to both the Ford and GMC trucks. This is a planned fluff piece.

Exactly. With proper maintenance any of the Big Three trucks will last 200k miles without many major repairs. Currently have 16 yo F150 135k mi that is mechanically sound. I can put 36 gallons of fuel in it around 10 min & drive it 700 mi. No interest in current impractical & generally unproven electrics.

Interesting. Appreciate the feedback. My 2006 GMC Yukon has always been the best car period I’ve ever owned. Never a problem. Brakes changed once. 246,000 miles. Leaked a little oil once but put a new seal in. Can’t say enough. Bit good to hear about your Tesla and sorry those morons messed with someone for driving a car. 😬

If you can't figure out why people don't like you supporting an open fascist then I don't know what to tell you. It's like crying about people being mean to you because you have a swastika on your forehead.

The mentality of why people hate EV is the analogy of the money who could not climb the banana tree and says the banana is rotten. A lot of the people who hate EV are DIY people who fix their own car. They hate the fact that someone made a car that require over 300 volts of electricity for its drive train and require expensive EV scanners and specialized tools and almost a college degree of electrical knowledge to perform diagnostics and their YouTube certification on auto repair wont work. I own an EV HEV shop and works on EV and Hybrid. A lot of my hybrid customers are DIY who fix their own car. They can fix almost anything in their car until it is the hybrid system that goes bad. Hybrid cars don't get as much hate as EV because at least the DIY owner can still work on most part of the car. If an EV owner comes to my shop of course they don't hate their own EV but most who own EV tend to be younger generation. So in my opinion those who hate EV are old petrol heads who works on their own car. The kind that can only diagnose a car by visual inspection and does not know how to use a multimeter

The reason for all the haters is that the truck is more different than anything they've seen. Change scares people . Also you have brand loyalty that is hard to overcome. It will all work out. Just don't get too excited

Steve (not verified)    November 25, 2025 - 1:04AM

Funny fact, since they decided to publish this person's history and education based off his name on the internet. Hate to tell you but the sat doesn't make it about unbiased truth, instead, it very obviously shows just how much people are willing to do to get a few dollars to change their opinion publicly.

Someone would have to pay me $100,000 to take it off their hands that is by far the ugliest trashcan looking thing ever developed

Nobody should ever mess with anyone’s vehicle, whatever it is and regardless of what you feel about it. However, for someone to pay that money for an impractical vehicle that will attract that kind of negative attention….i just don’t get it. It’s almost like you’re begging for attention. You could spend way less for something super nice and way more practical. If an ev is your thing….way better stuff for way less. F150 Lightning for example…
