Owner of a Golden Tesla Cybertruck Says He Can No Longer Handle the Constant Harassment. He Adds, “I Tried to Trade in the Cybertruck, but Tesla Won’t Accept It”

A Cybertruck owner with a golden truck says he has to deal with constant hostility toward him and his family. His wife has stopped using the truck, and he says he wants to trade it in for another Tesla, but the EV maker has refused.

Kumait Jaroje is a Cybertruck owner from Worcester, Massachusetts, who says he and his family face constant hostilities simply for driving a golden Cybertruck.

Kumait adds that the harassment is affecting his wife and children, and now his wife refuses even to drive the Cybertruck.

Fade up with all the negativity, Kumait tried to trade in his golden wrapped Tesla Cybertruck and get another Tesla; however, he says the EV maker refused to accept his Cybertruck trade-in.

The Massachusetts Cybertruck owner shared his story on the Tesla Cybertruck Enthusiast group on Facebook.

Here is what he wrote…

“My family is being harassed just because we own a Cybertruck.

Since getting our Cybertruck, we’ve faced constant hostility—people making offensive hand gestures, yelling at us, and now this.

Someone even put a Nazi sticker on our truck. My wife and kids don’t deserve this. In fact, the constant harassment has scared our kids, and now my wife refuses to use the Cybertruck altogether.

Disagreeing with Elon Musk or Donald Trump is one thing, but harassing a family over a vehicle is completely unacceptable.

This needs to stop.”

Below his post, Kumait included a picture of his golden Cybertruck showing that someone had put a sticker on it calling him Nazi and with some expletives.

By the way, before we move forward you need to know that Tesla recently made something seemingly impossible, by making the Cybertruck looking cheap, using the Model X. How? Look at this fresh video from the Youtube Channel of Torque News.

Looking at the comment, most Cybertruck owners sympathized with his plight. Some wondered where Kumait lived to face this much hostility.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Pedro Ferrer, asks…

“Where do you live? I am in Georgia, and I've had my Cybertruck since March and have only experienced a couple of rude hand gestures, which I laugh at because they've been from some people driving falling apart cars, so just really jealous people.

Now, the internet and social media are a whole other thing, but that is to be expected....”

In response, Kumait says the hate is not limited to online interactions.

He writes..

“I live in Worcester, Massachusetts. It got to the point where people are cutting me off sometimes and screaming out of their windows.”

Kumait adds that he tried to trade in his Cybertruck due to the hostilities; however, Tesla refused to take it back.

He writes…

“I tried to trade in the truck because of that, but Tesla said they won’t accept it!”

Looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners advised him to ignore the sticker and keep driving his truck.

However, Kumait says he’s now afraid something more violent could happen to him.

He writes…

“It is not a 'be cool' sticker. It is someone accusing me of being a Nazi and telling me to buzz off. The truck got scratched many times, and I fixed it without a problem.

That ignorant mentality might have someone throw a rock at the truck next time if we don’t stick out and tell these freaks to stop.”

This is definitely not an ideal situation. However, some Cybertruck owners in the group suggest that he’s getting so much hate because Kumait wrapped his Cybertruck gold.

Others say they have not experienced this much hate driving their all-electric trucks and suggest that he consider getting a less flashy wrap.

Whatever the case, it’s surprising to see how much public hate Cybertruck owners face. What do you think is the cause behind all this negativity? Please let me know in the comments.

I have the urge to do that to any Tesla I see, because Musk is a fascist Nazi puke, mind you, so is Trump, Hegseth and the rest of them. They are White Supremecists. Neo-nazis. Racist bigots. Trump is a Criminal, he cheats, he steals, he does what criminals do.

It is unfortunate you are getting so much hate. Anger is everywhere now, and people are looking for someone to take it out on. I personally don't like the cybertruck, nor Musk, but damn, that's my business. You driving a cybertruck is your business.
People cutting you off and making your kids feel unsafe is NOT acceptable. Unfortunately you are experiencing backlash from the current anger building in the USA. You and your family have my best wishes for health and happiness.

Really naive. Any which way you try to spin a narrative on owning tesla product, this goes back to Elons pre-fascist days taking glory for products he didn't create, you failed to read the room! How are you shocked? Do us older generations have to actaually explain your support to him will make you a target. Called bullying. Rightly deserevd too. You were obviously too coddled to receive that lesson. Sorry life is rough when you're naive

Just like Elon Musk, Henry Ford was also a Nazi sympathizer, so yeah, I too, have the urge to key Teslas - although, I haven't yet. I've admitted to my wife that I have the urge to do that, but I totally understand why and how they feel that way. It's not fair to the owners of those vehicles - but like I said, Henry Ford was also a nazi sympathizer and friends with Hitler - and was assisting in Hitler's plans to invade the United States. Where Hitler left off, Trump and Elon picked up the mantle.

It's not only cybertrucks, it's also the cars. I've experienced people throwing up rude hand gestures and other things. I'm a bit worried about this too and I don't even support Trump or Elon.

A friend of mine bought a CyberTruck, and had never driven a large vehicle before (only sedans). His wife got upset with him because he pulled up next to her in traffic and she felt he was bullying her (he didn't realize it was her). Driving large vehicles (especially if you are new to it), we need to extra aware of how we move our vehicle through traffic, and how it seems to the other drivers. I've personally noticed a lot of CyberTruck drivers that don't seem to notice how wide, and how far back the vehicle goes. Maybe you are accidentally crowding some other drivers, or maybe other CyberTruck drivers have in your area - and they are reacting to them. All you can do is to drive courteously, and not respond to them.

We have visceral hatred for the man who helped design this heap of sheet metal. He is literally tearing our government down to nothing. His company has tanked. He will tank our way of life. The guy should not be anywhere near us. Other Countries signing proclamations to keep him out. We are now the dumbest Country in the world and they aim to keep it that way. No they shouldn't take it out on those horrendously ugly "trucks", but we are f**king mad.

Crazy enough, it's not just cyber trucks or Tesla getting hostility. I have an old 2013 nissan leaf i putt around town in. Parked at the hospital last week to run in for a quick test. Came back 30 minutes later to find someone had shove a good size tree branch under my car and poured something sticky (mocha?) all over the
back of it. (Still wondering where they got the branch!) This was 8am in the morning in a parking garage! I've had to put up with negative comments which i ignore, but that was scary.

Sorry for your trouble; bad enough the extreme vitriol expressed over a lame status or political excuse, but because someone wants to drive a small modest plug-in car? We're on a bad path these days; hope we all see a recovery from it soon.

Articles about hatred toward Tesla owners is nothing new. I've seen plenty in the past decade, including things ranging from hateful remarks to vandalism.

Most of the hatred came from the extreme right, who somehow believed that they are being forced to buy EVs (they aren't), that there's an EV mandate (there isn't), that only people on the left buy Teslas (was never true), that people buy Teslas only for environmental reasons (far from true) and that creating electricity is bad for the environment (not only false, but the same people are not only fine with using far more electricity each day than it takes to power a car, they also claim that damaging the environment isn't a problem so their complaint shouldn't be relevant) and they think that's enough reason to destroy people's property. That makes as much sense as vandalizing people's air conditioners for using electricity.

Now, Elon Musk has gone to the far right politically (the right was under the mistaken belief that he used to be politically left, not realizing that the environment and belief in science are not left/right issues outside of the US), and now, some people on the left are under the mistaken impression that people who buy Teslas must agree with Musk.

The reality is that people buy Teslas because they like the cars better, the reasons likely had little to nothing to do with their political beliefs and that many bought them before Musk went off the extreme edge. Even the Cybertruck was unveiled before that, which was when reservations started.

Vandalizing anything is wrong and stupid, and chances are that whoever the victim is will have no clue why it happened. It won't hurt Elon, but it will drive up insurance rates.

It seems that a lot of commentors have automatically assumed that the cyber truck bullies are liberal or democrat but ignore the conservative and trumpers that absolutely HATE EV's because they want us to "Drill, baby drill" for oil. When EV's began to make their resurgence (about 12-15 years ago) it was liberals (tree huggers) that were buying them and they were being sabotaged constantly by republican voters!

There's a reason the saying goes, "Eat the rich".
Flaunting your wealthy in the faces of people who are losing everything they own. These poor people have nothing to lose, so that makes them dangerous when they turn their hate towards the rich. The insensitive rich.

"What do you think is the cause behind all this negativity?"

I'll give you three guesses, and the first two don't count. I mean, you read the news, right?

You are the product the news company is selling. They feed you with negative articles so that they can make money. You can find a new master and not be someone's product. You can also choose to live a life without negativity.

Isn't it funny how the trumpies don't like to be treated the way they treat everybody else. Welcome to the consequences of your actions

He must be leasing it....

Not a SINGLE car dealer would EVER refuse to buy a vehicle. The only question is how much of a LOSS you will take on their offer.

And it's cute reading the post of the one guy who said, "they're just jealous..." No little guy...we aren't jealous!

LOL

“I live in Worcester, Massachusetts. It got to the point where people are cutting me off sometimes and screaming out of their windows.”

Well.... ummmm... that sounds like every commute in in the Boston area while driving any vehicle ever built... Throw in a few of those "rude hand gestures" and it's just another Tuesday!

scott gruntorad (not verified)    February 10, 2025 - 12:27PM

It's an ugly vehicle, but no one deserves harassment for that OR perceived political views. It's the unhinged people behaving that way who should be harassed. And anyone defacing another's vehicle (thru damaging scratches or just 'stickers') should be charged w/vandalism and given restraining orders from the area of their criminal behavior and at least 500 yds from the victims' vicinity at all times.

It's not harmless, it's childish.

KATHERINE JOHNSON (not verified)    February 10, 2025 - 12:29PM

As Musk continues to illegally pillage our government, this driver should count on the "harassment" getting worse. That stupid, ugly truck is a representation of the vile rabid muskrat. It could be dangerous for his family to drive it.

James FitzRandolph (not verified)    February 10, 2025 - 12:58PM

It is Elon. I have actually had a Tesla owner tell me that they would have purchased a second Tesla, but they wont because of Elon's antics.

Kevin (not verified)    February 10, 2025 - 1:01PM

He wrapped it in gold, duh!! I hate the cybertruck, simply because it's ugly and not really a useful truck, but I don't express it like those people.
