Randy Roberts, a Cybertruck owner from Utah, says he owes his life to his all-electric truck after a recent close call on the highway.
Randy explains that the light turned green and he was crossing the highway when, suddenly, another truck, completely disregarding traffic rules, drove straight through a red light into the intersection.
He shares that at the time, since his light was green, he didn't look at the other road and might have kept going, risking a crash.
But before that could happen, and even before he saw the other truck, his Cybertruck automatically applied the brakes, saving him from getting T-boned.
Randy now says he’s grateful to be driving a Cybertruck and for saving his and his family’s lives.
The happy Cybertruck owner shared his story in the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.
He writes…
“Cybertruck saved our lives tonight.
We were going through a green light in Autodrive when it suddenly stopped just before a large truck ran a red light.
We would have been T-boned by a truck going 60 mph. Thank you, Cybertruck!”
Below his post, Randy included a video of the incident.
In the video, Randy’s Cybertruck is stopped at a red light at a highway intersection.
A few seconds later, the light turns green, and the Cybertruck starts to move through the intersection.
But at that moment, a white truck on the adjacent road completely runs the red light and speeds toward the intersection.
Although Randy didn't see the vehicle, his Cybertruck automatically hit the brakes, preventing a crash.
This is definitely a wonderful outcome, and it’s no wonder Randy is grateful for his all-electric truck.
And looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners say they’ve been in similar situations where their trucks saved them from accidents.
A fellow Cybertruck owner, James Drabo, writes…
“I experienced something similar when driving toward a four-way traffic light.
Some kids jumped in front of me from the sidewalk, and my Cybertruck stopped immediately.
Cybertruck is definitely a lifesaver.”
Another Cybertruck owner, Brian Griesmann, says…
“Awesome, my Cybertruck did the same with an ID-10T on a motorized scooter going against traffic on the sidewalk.”
A third Cybertruck owner, Jim O'Brock, comments…
“Be happy you didn’t override the truck’s decision to brake by pressing the accelerator!”
Randy confirms that he almost deactivated the emergency stop, thinking it was a mistake by the vehicle, but he’s glad he trusted his Cybertruck.
Randy says…
“I almost pressed the accelerator pedal!”
Overall, a lot of Cybertruck owners say their vehicles have saved their lives.
