A Tesla Cybertruck Owner Says, “I Don’t Know How Some Of You Drive With FSD 100% of The Time” – He Adds, “I Love FSD, but I Also Love Driving, So I Only Use It a Fraction Of The Time.”

A Cybertruck owner shares his surprise at seeing how often fellow Tesla owners use FSD. He questions how some Tesla owners can depend entirely on FSD for all their driving and stop manually operating their vehicles altogether.

Scott Jamieson, a Cybertruck owner from Massachusetts, says he’s surprised to see how much fellow Tesla owners rely on FSD.

Scott enjoys Tesla’s full self-driving software but also loves driving himself and says he only uses FSD occasionally.

Tesla’s latest software update now shows metrics indicating the percentage of miles driven manually versus with FSD.

And Scott says he’s surprised to see some Tesla owners sharing that they handle all their driving with the autonomous software.

The intrigued Cybertruck owner shared his thoughts on the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.

He writes…

“Genuine question, and not a critique:

How do some of you drive 100% on FSD?

What goes through your mind? What's your use-case scenario?

With 14.2 showing the new metrics, I've seen several users share their stats with hundreds and thousands of miles at 95-100% FSD use.

As someone who loves FSD but also enjoys driving, I use it only part of the time, including a mix of long highway commutes and city driving.

The truck drives amazingly—better than other Teslas. I’m curious about what motivates those on the other end of the spectrum.”

And looking at the comments, a lot of Cybertruck owners shared why they rely so much on FSD.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Jennifer Kozlik, wrote:

“I love driving. I built and raced cars with my dad and grandpa growing up. But now I’m older. I’d prefer the car to watch out for reckless drivers while I relax with my kids.

Safety is really important. Are there times I just want to take over and drive? Sure. So I use FSD 95% of the time. My husband is nearly 100%. He commutes on the freeway three days a week and prefers to let the car do the driving.

On driving vacations? We get to enjoy the scenery while the car handles the road.”

Another Cybertruck owner, Barry Jordan, writes…

“Just a personal preference. I couldn't care less about the “fun” of driving most of the time, but I'm middle-aged.

And driving in town here isn’t exactly open roads—think suburban stoplights and one-lane traffic with no passing.

I sit at a desk all day with my hands on a keyboard. I just want to rest my arms and shoulders whenever I can completely.

FSD improves my posture and reduces back/neck tension in a good way.”

A third Cybertruck owner, Al Olsen, writes…

“I use FSD every day on every drive. I am in awe of its capabilities and enjoy supervising from a higher level, letting the car control speed, stops, lane keeping, and use its cameras to see things instantly, versus my slow reactions, if I even notice the issue at all.

No FSD would be a deal breaker, and as a 75-year-old, the car drives better than I do.”

A fourth Cybertruck owner, John Collins, writes…

“I haven’t had a chance to try FSD v14.2 on the truck yet. Hopefully, it downloads soon.

Today, I drove 187 miles in the Model Y with FSD v14.2, and it performed very well.

I use FSD more and more because it’s more relaxing.

I’ve used FSD to drive to St. Augustine, Florida, and Breckenridge, Colorado, from Galveston.

I enjoy driving, but long, monotonous rides tire me out, so it’s good to have the assistance. Driving to and from work helps with fatigue.”

A fifth Cybertruck owner, Rob Hubbard, adds…

“I drive a box truck for a living, so I definitely let my Cybertruck drive as much as possible. I drive enough on the clock.”

Overall, the sentiment amongst Cybertruck owners seems to be that FSD reduces fatigue and helps them relax. However, please let me know what you think in the comments.
