Brett Martin, a Cybertruck owner from Florida, used to face skepticism about how practical a bulletproof truck could be.

He recalls that friends and family didn't quite understand the point of the truck’s bulletproof feature.

However, everything changed a few days ago during a lively 4th of July celebration in his neighborhood.

At first, the event was joyful, with Brett powering the party with his Cybertruck and even helping neighbors turn off the loud generators.

But as the celebration was in full swing, a speeding driver dashed into the neighborhood, sparking an altercation that regrettably escalated to guns being drawn.

In that tense moment, Brett shares that, until the police arrived and brought everything under control, the truck served as a safe haven for a toddler, an infant, and a couple of neighbors.

This was a very tense situation, and Brett shared his experience on the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.

He wrote…

“A lot of times when I mention that the Tesla truck is bullet-resistant, people ask, 'Why would you ever need that?’

This 4th of July gave me a pretty real answer.

We had a fantastic night with friends, family, and neighbors at the block party. Earlier, I offered to use the truck to power the event so we could turn off the noisy generator.

Later that night, things took an unexpected turn— a speeding car came through the street, leading to a disagreement where weapons were drawn.

Thankfully, everyone around us is okay, and I really hope the kids who went to the ER for burns are doing all right, too.

Until the police arrived and got everything under control, the truck served as shelter for a toddler, an infant, and a few neighbors.

You hope you never need that kind of protection, but in that moment, I was very glad it was there.”

Below his post, Brett shared several pictures. One shows his Cybertruck against a backdrop of fireworks.

A couple depict the entire festival with neighbors gathered, and the last image features a Jupiter, Florida, police vehicle parked nearby.

It's definitely regrettable when a neighborhood celebration turns this chaotic, and look at the comments, several Cybertruck owners say they are happy their truck is bulletproof given the current climate.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Timothy Waugh, writes…

“With all the crazy people out here, I’m glad I have a Cybertruck. Even though it triggers some folks”

Another owner, Will Scott, says…

“My wife was putting our kid in the truck when a shooting happened 10 feet from the back of the truck.”

Chris Banks adds…

“I'm glad thats its bullet proof. Too many idiots out there”

Antonio Ruiz comments…

“Sad world we live in; I'm glad people go to prison for violent behavior here in our town.”

Chrissy Heilmann notes…

“It's so sad that something like this even had to happen. Thank you for giving them a safe place.”

Another owner says…

“I’d rather have a bulletproof truck and not need it than need one and not have it. Well done.”

Overall, a lot of Cybertruck owners feel they need a bulletproof truck. However, please let me know what you think in the comments.
