A Tesla Cybertruck Owner Says His Doors Are Flexing Rapidly In and Out, Creating a Wobble – Adds, “I Can See the Rapid Flexing With My Eyes and Feel It in My Hands and Knees”

A brand-new Cybertruck owner says it’s been two weeks since he bought his truck, and he’s noticed an unusual problem.

The problem is that when driving at highway speeds, he noticed significant noise and vibration coming from his truck.

However, the Cybertruck owner states that, unlike other reports of noise and vibration, the issue with his truck is not caused by misaligned wheels or the foam in the tires separating.

Rather, his Cybertruck noise is produced by the truck’s stainless steel exoskeleton.

The Cybertruck owner reports that when driving at approximately 65 mph, the stainless steel on his front driver and passenger side doors rapidly flexes in and out, resulting in a wobbling noise and vibrations.

The Cybertruck owner reports that he can look down while driving and see the stainless steel flexing rapidly, and he also feels the vibration in his arms and knees.

The concerned Cybertruck owner shared his story on the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.

He writes…

“Hi, I got my brand new 2025 Cybertruck AWD two weeks ago and absolutely love it.

The only issue I have right now is that at speeds of 65 miles per hour or higher, I experience wind noise.

It's not coming from the foam in the tires, misalignment, or any of the other problems I read about before buying.

My noise is coming from the front driver and passenger doors. The doors are flexing quickly in and out in the wind, causing a wobbling sound—a rapid flex.

I can see this flex visibly on the panel, and I can feel it on my knee and arm if I rest my arm on the door's armrest.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?”

This is definitely not ideal; however, looking at the comments, multiple Cybertruck owners shared that they, too, have experienced similar issues.

Alex Chuyko, a fellow Cybertruck owner, reports experiencing wobbling in the stainless steel. Tesla replaced the doors, but the issue persists.

Alex writes…

“I am experiencing a similar issue where the outer skin panel is separating from the reinforcement because the adhesive isn't holding.

Tesla replaced the door, but regrettably, this didn't fix the problem.

They are currently looking for a solution to fix it.

My next appointment is scheduled for Wednesday, and I am eager to see how they will address it.”

A second Cybertruck owner shared this sentiment but added that, after waiting a month to resolve the issue, Tesla told him they are aware of it but currently have no fix.

He writes…

“I have the same issue with my driver's door. I waited a month for a service visit only to hear ‘known issue, no available fix at the moment,’ and was sent home—absolute joke of a response.”

A third Cybertruck owner, Steven Michael, states that he took his truck in for service, and Tesla returned his vehicle, claiming that the noise and vibration are caused by the mirror design and that there is no current solution for it.

Steven writes…

“Basically, the same for me. They improved it a little, but are blaming it on the mirror design. I don’t buy it because the passenger side doesn’t do it.”

Below his post, Steven shared the service report he received from Tesla.

The Tesla service technician confirms the noise and vibration issue but states that nothing can be done about it, attributing it to the window design.

Regarding the correction, Tesla describes it as 'education,' meaning they informed the owner that no solution is available.

Tesla writes…

Concern: Customer states: Other • Noise & Vibration - Driver side mirror and door vibrate when driving at highway speed. You can visually see the mirror shaking and feel the vibration through the door

Repair Notes: Verified customer concern, compared with other cybertrucks to validate that this concern is due to the mirror design. Removed door panel to ensure no loose components. Retorqued all bolts in the door as well.

Correction: Remote - Education”

CORRECTION: There is no exoskeleton. Those are just cheap stainless steel panels over a metal frame, not an exoskeleton. Why do people keep making this silly error, right?

I think it's funny that he read all the problems, then payed 100K for it anyway. Now he's surprised it has an additional problem. When you use double sided tape and adhesive to hold an "indestructible" truck together, don't be surprised when it starts falling apart.
