Ninah Marquez Arellano, a Cybertruck owner from Denver, Colorado, says she was recently cleaning her truck’s windshield when the glass suddenly shattered into pieces.

Ninah explains she was simply wiping the inside of the front glass with a cloth when the cracks began to spread.

The frustrated Cybertruck owner shared her story on the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.

She writes...

“Does anyone else have this happen? Wiping the inside of the window, and it just shattered.”

Below her post, Ninah included a picture of her Cybertruck windshield, which clearly shows the front glass shattered into pieces.

There is a circular area roughly the size of a hand that remains intact, but multiple cracks radiate outward from this spot.

It appears as if the Cybertruck windshield was pushed from the inside by hand until it shattered.

This is surprising for two main reasons.

First, Tesla markets the Cybertruck’s windshield, which is the largest single piece of glass in the automotive industry, as “shatter-resistant” and “transparent metal.”

Second, Ninah was cleaning from the inside when the cracks appeared.

Had she been cleaning from the outside, some might argue she supported her weight on the glass, causing the damage.

However, when cleaning from the inside, it’s difficult to exert extra force except with the hand doing the cleaning.

Given these circumstances, it’s surprising that the glass would sustain this level of damage; however, looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners shared differing opinions.

Some Cybertruck owners shared they too have faced similar issues and linked the failure to the windshield’s massive size and a manufacturing defect at the Tesla glass factory.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Billy Wellington, writes…

“Oh man! I've seen other situations similar to yours that’ve been posted here. The problem could be that the Cybertruck’s massive windshield has caused structural tension and made it more prone to fracturing, especially from flaws at the glass edges.”

Nomi, another Cybertruck owner, agrees, saying...

“This happened to one of our clients' Cybertrucks while it was parked inside our wrap shop overnight. As Billy mentioned, it’s a stress crack - Tesla replaced it free of charge, covered under warranty.”

On the other hand, some Cybertruck owners blamed Ninah and suggested she must be very strong to shatter the windshield this way.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Octavian Predescu, writes...

“You probably pressed on it. Tesla's windshields for any model are super thin and flimsy.”

Another owner humorously adds...

“You must have arms bigger than my thighs.”

Besides these two explanations, some owners propose an alternative, suggesting that the temperature difference between the cold cleaning solution and the hot weather is what caused the glass to crack.

Jonathan Joiner writes...

“Did you spray hot glass with cold cleaner?”

Rich Eannarino comments...

“Were you washing in direct/hot sun… Cold water could have shocked the glass.”

Overall, Cybertruck owners seem divided on why Ninah’s windshield shattered while she was cleaning it.

This may very well be part of the cyberturd ownership experience, that's all. Nothing you can do about it, really.

When are you all going to admit you have been rooked by the CyberSlimer Elon? Quit buying his crap products and open lies, and maybe he will go away. A fool and their money is soon parted, and he has made fools of all of you.

Cracking without shattering - notice it’s all in tact - is a safety feature. It absorbs energy. My guess is a manufacturing defect or the person pressed really hard or they are lying.

Well... It literally shows like 3 "spider webs" of cracks. And these are usually created with its center where the puch landed. I think this was s another negative "example" in battle against Tesla. And look at this: most of comments is simply hateful, and all of it is coming from who? Those who never owned it! (Most would never be able to afford it as well). That's why we have random people who pretty much achieved nothing in their life's, calling high tech vehicle a "toilet" and a richest guy in the world, undisputed pioneer in significant technical progress - an "idiot". You have to love Internet (where any low level human being - can virtually "spit in the face" of someone exceptional, just to feel better).
