Tesla has announced that all Cybertruck production slots are now sold out for the rest of the year, following the launch of the more affordable $59,900 Cybertruck variant.

This update was shared on the company’s online configurator.

When orders opened a week ago, Tesla initially estimated deliveries to start around June 2026. However, thanks to strong interest in the budget-friendly Cybertruck, those delivery dates were quickly pushed back to November.

Just a few days later, some customers reported receiving a delivery estimate of March 2027, which is over a year away.

Finally, today, Tesla has stopped providing specific delivery dates altogether. Now, if you visit the online configurator, it simply indicates that orders placed today will be delivered sometime in 2027.

There appears to be a strong interest in the more affordable Cybertruck model. However, Tesla indicates that customers can expect the higher-end dual-motor and tri-motor versions to be delivered within 10 to 12 weeks.

This indicates that Tesla sees considerably higher demand for the $59,900 Cybertruck compared to the models starting at $80,000 and $100,000.

The increased demand is also exciting Tesla fans, who shared on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum that Tesla is “rebuilding the million-order queue”.

When Tesla launched the Cybertruck in 2019, the reservation queue quickly ballooned to over a million.

However, that quickly evaporated once Tesla revealed the vehicle's final specs, showing a significantly higher purchase price and a lower range.

Nevertheless, if the resurgence of the Cybertruck wasn’t good enough, a fellow Cybertruck owner, Vin, says the demand for the base Cybertruck is even more impressive than the million-plus reservations.

Vin writes…

“Progress!

In reality, this will be a different version of the line from the 2019 unveiling, with what should/could be a higher conversion rate.

There were many problems with the original order queue, not the least of which were

(1) Some orders were five years old, people moved on and bought other vehicles in the meantime,

(2) prices (thanks, inflation) were much higher than originally indicated, and…

(3) the $100 deposit was meaningless to many people - some did it just to be 'in'.

I don't foresee a 100% order fill rate, not by any stretch, but I could see something in the 15-20% range.

Say 100-200K orders are placed before 2/28, when prices go up. Maybe 15-40K vehicles get delivered, which might run production through year-end, assuming production restarts in June.”

Vin continues to argue that Tesla should raise the base Cybertruck price by as much as $10,000.

He believes this will encourage the folks who placed a $250 deposit on their Cybertruck to go ahead with their purchase, fearing that if they don’t take their chance now, they will have to pay an extra $10,000 to buy the vehicle in the future.

Vin writes…

“If the price increase is closer to $10K (what I'd suggest Tesla does) than $5K, the order fill rate might even get to 40%, so 40-80K vehicles, which might stretch 12 months, wouldn't be terrible.

Let's see what happens 3/1, but I'm thinking $59,990 --> $69,990, which does two things:

1) will help push people to purchase when their delivery slot opens ("I got a heck of a deal")

2) Anyone who wants a truck earlier and doesn't have a pre-order might look hard at the $80K AWD premium since the price delta will then only be $10K

Both are win-wins for Tesla.”

One encouraging aspect for Tesla with this group of Cybertruck orders is that customers have paid $250, an increase from the original $100, and this time the order fee is nonrefundable.

Furthermore, since production is set to start soon, many people who order the base Cybertruck are likely to go through with their purchase.

Overall, there appears to be a lot of demand for the Cybertruck at this lower price; however, please let me know what you think in the comments.
