Customizers Take Ford Pickups To The Next Level At SEMA Show

At this year's Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Assn. (SEMA), Ford has put together an aggressive display of the ways customization can make a vehicle more fun for an owner as well as making it the owner's special truck.

At this year’s SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) show in Las Vegas, Ford put together an aggressive display that covers a wide range of its products. As in years past, the SEMA show is used to display the many customization options available for customers. Ford works with customizers to create 40 custom SEMA vehicles.

Ford Puts Together Huge Display

This year, Ford has worked with customizers throughout the industry to provide show attendees with as many options as possible. For example, Ford has put together as many as 40 examples available on its online ordering site. Some of the specialty options are among Ford's most popular offerings, the Bronco Brand, for instance.

Ford has offered a wide range of its vehicles at this year's SEMA Show. They show exactly what customizers and the automaker can do with the online order list.

Take Ford’s Hellwig double-duty concept truck. The vehicle was built to provide everything needed to get work down and then to transition seamlessly into the ultimate tool for reaching remote locations so customers can use their pickups for relaxation and recreation.

Marc Stern has been an automotive writer since 1971 when an otherwise normal news editor said, "You're our new car editor," and dumped about 27 pounds of auto stuff on my desk. I was in heaven as I have been a gearhead from my early days. As a teen, I spent the usual number of misspent hours hanging out at gas stations Shell and Texaco (a big thing in my youth) and working on cars. From there on, it was a straight line to my first column for the paper, "You Auto Know," an enterprise that I handled faithfully for 32 years. Not many people know that I also handled computer documentation for a good part of my living while writing YAN. My best writing, though, was always in cars.
