2021 Ram 1500 TRX is Crowned Texas Truck of the Year

With all of its ranches and wide-open spaces, Texas is one of the most important markets for truck sales. See why automotive journalists in the Lone Star State have crowned the Ram 1500 TRX as the Texas Truck of the Year.

Depending on how sales shake out, Texas is one of the top markets for trucks in the country. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is driving off with another major award as it is crowned the Texas Truck of the Year. The 700+ horsepower beast was also awarded High-Performance Truck of the Year at the Texas Motor Press Association Texas Off-Road Invitational event.

"The challenging off-road trails were no problem for Ram 1500 TRX as it easily trekked over the roads with massive horsepower, multiple drive modes and lofty ground clearance. It was so much fun to experience the truck conquer the trails. We all took notice of the wild animal roar exhaust note off in the distance," said Bryan Grant, president Texas Motor Press Association.

2021 Ram 1500 TRX

The 2021 Ram TRX has been hauling home awards all year. The New England Motor Press Association named the TRX “The Official Truck of Winter in New England”. The Ram 1500 TRX was voted Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year. The Ram TRX was also recently named FOUR WHEELER 2021 Pickup of the Year for its off-roading prowess. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is clocked at doing 0-60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds, the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph and a top speed 118 mph. The TRX, with its 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI® V-8 engine, produces 702-horsepower. It is the quickest, fastest and most powerful mass-produced half-ton pickup truck in the world. The truck was also named to the Car and Driver Editors' Choice list. The 2021 Ram TRX was also named Rocky Mountain Automotive Press Truck of the Year.

Ram is also the first truck brand to finish first in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study. Also, The J.D. Power APEAL study named the 2021 Ram 1500 as the best vehicle in the large light-duty pickup category.

Several Jeeps Also Drove Home with Top Awards

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator wins the award as Off-Road Truck of the Year. The Gladiator has been a popular award winner since making its debut as 2020 model. The all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L wins Full-size SUV of the Year. The Grand Cherokee L just debuted this year, so it is impressive that it is already taking home awards. The first three row Jeep just was named to the Wards 10 Best Interiors List. Also, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 392 drives off with the award as High-performance SUV of the Year. The Wrangler 392, equipped with a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 is ready to take on the toughest terrain, with high horsepower and powerful torque perfect for off-roading.
