2021 Jeep Wrangler Out to Prove Its Off-Road Dominance With New Xtreme Recon Package

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is not going to let other automakers steal its thunder. The perennial off-road king is out with a new package to solidify its reputation as “King of the Hill”. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is debuting an Xtreme Recon Package to increase its 4x4 capability.

Jeep is using its highly respected custom shops to create this new Xtreme Recon version and make it available straight from the factory. The Jeep Wrangler Xtreme Recon will come with 35-inch all-terrain tires, which will improve its ground clearance, approach angle, departure angle and improve its water fording ability.

For the first time ever a 100:1 crawl ratio will be available from the factory for the Wrangler Rubicon later this year. The Xtreme Recon will also have a factory-installed 1.5-inch lift kit. It will feature 17-inch by 8-inch beadlock capable wheels.

“For the first time ever, the new Jeep Wrangler Xtreme Recon Package delivers 35-inch tires straight from the factory,” said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand North America. “We have been listening to and watching our customers make this one of the most popular modifications to their Wranglers, and now we will deliver this exciting new package, along with an industry-first 100:1 crawl ratio, off the showroom floor at our Jeep dealerships.”

2021 Jeep Wrangler Xtreme Recon Ordering

The Xtreme Recon package will be available on both the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4-door and Wrangler Rubicon 392 models. Ordering is open now and production is scheduled to start in August. What is particularly attractive about a custom package of this type is that it is installed straight from the factory, so it is installed by people who do this for a living, not someone trying it for the first time. It also means it is covered by the original factory warranty. Most importantly, for many people, the overall cost can be added into and financed as part of the vehicle, rather than having to come up with the money to add custom details later on.

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Xtreme Recon will make its public debut at the Chicago Auto Show on Thursday, July 14, 2021. The Chicago Auto Show is known for having a huge Camp Jeep driving area. Jeep is also planning to reveal the new 2022 Jeep Compass at the Chicago Auto Show.
