Over a hundred Cybertrucks have been spotted at a port in South Korea as Tesla prepares to start Cybertruck deliveries outside North America.

The Cybertrucks were spotted at the port, parked alongside hundreds of other Tesla vehicles.

After these pictures circulated on social media, Tesla's head of Cybertruck engineering, Wes Morrill, confirmed that Cybertrucks have indeed arrived in the East Asian country.

Wes wrote…

“Apocalypse of Cybertrucks arrived in South Korea”

Tesla uses the term 'Apocalypse' to refer to a group of Cybertrucks, similar to how a pride describes a group of lions or a school describes a group of fish.

South Korea has become Tesla’s largest market outside the U.S. and China. As a result, it is no surprise that the EV maker has selected South Korea as the first country outside North America to introduce the Cybertruck.

Tesla began accepting Cybertruck orders in South Korea on August 29, and the company states that deliveries will begin by the end of 2025.

The presence of Cybertrucks in the country indicates Tesla is ready to start delivering the truck in the coming days or weeks.

Cybertruck Price in South Korea

The Cybertruck is much more expensive in South Korea compared to the US.

The Dual Motor All Wheel Drive Cybertruck starts at $79,900 in the US. In South Korea, the same vehicle has a starting price of 140 million Korean Won ($104,000).

For the Tri-motor performance Cybertruck, the prices in the US and South Korea are surprisingly similar, both starting at $115,000 (160 million Korean Won).

However, it’s important to note that the tri-motor Cybertrucks sold in both countries are not identical.

In the US, the tri-motor Cybertruck comes with the Luxe package, which includes features like full self-driving software and lifetime supercharger access as standard.

In South Korea, the tri-motor Cybertruck doesn’t include those features, yet it has the same starting price.

Nevertheless, this is a major step by Tesla, which has struggled to generate sufficient demand for its all-electric truck in North America.

Cybertruck Demand

So far, the Cybertruck hasn't quite reached the sales numbers Tesla was hoping for.

Ahead of deliveries, Tesla had amassed more than 1 million reservations for the electric truck, indicating a great deal of excitement. However, since sales began, the actual demand has been significantly lower than initially expected.

Tesla currently has installed production capacity of 130,000 Cybertrucks annually, with plans to expand to 250,000 units per year.

However, current demand is around 25,000 vehicles annually—only 10% of Tesla’s target.

Expanding the number of countries and regions where the Cybertruck is available will help Tesla improve its disappointing sales.

Specifically, in South Korea, Tesla remains very popular. Tesla is the number one choice among outside companies for South Korean investors. Elon Musk also remains a popular figure in South Korea.

The country, with over 50 million residents and considerable wealth, could help Tesla significantly boost Cybertruck sales.

Price & Design

The U.S. remains the world's largest truck market, with over 2.5 million trucks sold annually.

As a result, Elon Musk and Tesla designed the Cybertruck primarily to meet North American regulations.

Currently, the truck cannot be legally sold in the European Union or China, two of the world's biggest automotive markets.

Still, Tesla plans to expand the Cybertruck's availability to more markets, including South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Tesla has also indicated that the Cybertruck may eventually be available in Australia and other countries across the Asia Pacific region.

Starting Cybertruck sales in these regions would definitely help increase overall sales numbers; However, please let me know what you think in the comments.
