Sawyer Merritt, a Tesla investor and influencer who has supported the EV maker for years, has now become the owner of his own Juniper Model Y.

There were questions about whether Sawyer would keep his positive attitude toward Tesla after he purchased one of the vehicles and faced some of the reliability and service challenges.

However, instead of souring on the EV maker after becoming a Tesla vehicle owner, Sawyer says his experience has been so positive that it has boosted his opinion of Tesla.

Not only that, even going through Tesla’s service process, which is a source of frustration for most Tesla owners, Sawyer says he’s beyond happy with the experience he’s getting.

Sawyer adds that he recently had to bring his Model Y into Tesla service for minor issues related to washer fluid.

However, as a loaner vehicle, Tesla gave him a much more expensive Cybertruck. After driving the Cybertruck for a while, Sawyer crowns the Cybertruck as the best vehicle in the world.

The satisfied Tesla customer shared his story on the Cybertruck Owners Only Facebook group.

He writes…

“I have been driving this Cybertruck while my Model Y is receiving a few small service items done (washer fluid related). The best loaner vehicle there is.”

Below his post, Sawyer included a picture of his loaner Cybertruck parked on the hill at night.

Sawyer seems happy with the Cybertruck; however, he also shared his positive experience with Tesla service.

He continues to write…

“By the way, this is my first time using Tesla Service with my own Tesla, and the entire experience has been fantastic. It’s far better than the traditional auto service I used to experience.”

Sawyer mentions that, in particular, he was most satisfied with Tesla's software-first approach to service.

Sawyer continues to write…

“I love being able to track everything in real time on the app, see the technician’s notes, communicate with the service team directly through the app, check estimated completion time, and view cost info (mine is under warranty), etc.”

In addition to the Tesla app, which offers numerous integrated service features, Sawyer also mentions that he has been pleased with his interactions with Tesla employees.

He continues to write…

“The whole Tesla team has been very responsive. It’s a great experience for those rare times you need to visit a service center.”

Overall, Sawyer appears to be very satisfied with his Tesla Model Y, the loaner Cybertruck, and the entire service experience.

However, one thing to keep in mind here is that Sawyer’s experience with Tesla service might be the expectation rather than the rule.

Sawyer is a prominent figure in the Tesla community, recognized by all Tesla employees, frequently engaging with CEO Elon Musk, and highly praised by the chairwoman and the board of directors.

Given this level of influence, it is reasonable to assume that Sawyer may have received preferential treatment from Tesla employees.

However, when it comes to regular Tesla customers who don’t have the CEO’s ear, they constantly point out that vehicle service is one of the worst parts of dealing with Tesla.

Over the past few months, we have reported the experience of real Tesla owners, specifically Cybertruck owners.

Some Cybertruck owners complain that, despite eight service visits, Tesla still has not fixed the issue with their truck.

Several other Cybertruck owners also reported that their brand-new vehicles spend more time at Tesla service than on the road.

If this wasn’t bad enough, once these issues arise, the Cybertruck owners say that it has been a struggle dealing with Tesla service.

One Cybertruck owner says he found his truck at Tesla service with a homeless man sleeping inside, and he discovered that the man had urinated inside the truck.

Overall, Tesla seems to have given Sawyer the white glove treatment for his Model Y. However, please let me know what you think in the comments.

IMHO, these Tesla influencers are victims of their own self fulfilling prophecies. In addition, they may suffer from something called buyers justification. Some of them should may need to seek professional help for their affliction.

Considering all of the issues related to the cyber truck, what would happen to it if I was to hook up a 17,000 lb 5th wheel RV trailer to it and head out on 3,000 mile vacation wit it. What kind of problems would occur and what would my range be when towingthis RV? Where could I recharge it when traveling mostly on country backroads??

Roughly 6 months ago I purchased my very first Tesla. It was a used 2023 model S long range. Other than the backseat rattling to no end it has been a wonderful vehicle. I am in Raleigh North Carolina and use the N. Raleigh Service Center, and I can’t help but be totally enamored with their approach to service. I get nothing but the best treatment - if my car is there longer than an hour I get a basically brand new loaner vehicle. I’ve had a model 3, a model Y, C, and the Cybertruck which was brand new! Loved all of them!
All things considered it has been a very good experience for me owning a Tesla and getting it serviced by Tesla.
And yes, they fixed the rattling back seat and now my car is totally silent, except of course, for the kick ass stereo!
