Doug DeMuro Refutes Accusations He Hasn’t Yet Reviewed the Tesla Cybertruck Because He is Paid for by “Big Truck” – Downplays Ford’s Influence Over His Content – Instead Points the Finger at Tesla

Doug DeMuro has addressed why he hasn’t yet reviewed the Cybertruck despite the vehicle being out for over ten weeks. Doug blames Tesla for the delay and objects to accusations, claiming he’s paid for by “Big Truck” and Ford.

Doug DeMuro is the most famous online personality in the car review world. The YouTuber has over 4.7 million subscribers, and his car review videos garner millions of views each on average.

Unlike other large car YouTuber channels, Doug DeMuro is famous for his low-production-quality videos, which are full of tiny quarks and features.

On the other hand, the Tesla Cybertruck is currently the hottest vehicle in the automotive world and garners more attention than even one-off multi-million dollar cars.

The most prominent automotive YouTuber and the most exciting vehicle to hit the roads seem like a perfect fit. However, although the Cybertruck started deliveries more than three months ago, Doug DeMuro has yet to review the vehicle.

This has led to accusations by individuals who assert that Doug has chosen to ignore the Cybertruck because Big Auto instructed him to do so.

Although these claims might seem outlandish, the fact that the biggest automotive YouTuber has ignored the Cybertruck for over ten weeks is also rather odd.

Luckily, during his latest video, Doug DeMuro addresses this question head-on. In a 10-minute video titled “Here's Why I Haven't Reviewed the Tesla Cybertruck Yet.” Doug answers all of the internet’s questions regarding his absent Cybertruck review.

So why hasn’t Doug DeMuro reviewed the Cybertruck? Doug addresses this question head-on and refutes rumors suggesting he has chosen to ignore the Cybertruck because Big Auto instructed him to do so.

Doug DeMuro specifically addresses accusations linking him with Ford and the F-150 Lightning. During his video, Doug even mocks people who have suggested that he’s paid for by “Big Truck” and people who have suggested that a Ford Lightning delivered a wad of cash to him.

Doug continues to state that the reason he hasn’t yet reviewed the Cybertruck has nothing to do with Ford or Big Truck, stating, “I’m not taking $5,000 from Ford to review a product well.”

So why hasn’t Doug DeMuro reviewed the Cybertruck yet? According to the Youtuber, Tesla is to blame for the delay. Specifically, the agreement Tesla makes new Cybertruck owners sign when purchasing a Foundation Series Cyertruck.

In the owner's agreement, Tesla states that anyone purchasing a new Foundation Series Cybertruck can only sell the truck a year after purchase. At least, a person can not do so unless he/she first receives consent from Tesla.

For Cybertruck owners who chose to sell their trucks without Tesla’s consent, the EV maker threatens to sue the individuals for upwards of $50,000. On top of that, Tesla says the company will ban all individuals who do so from purchasing any Tesla vehicle in the future.

Given that the Tesla car key is an app on your phone tied to your VIN, there are fears that the EV maker might render an illegally sold Cybertruck remotely unusable once the vehicle has been transferred.

At this point, you might wonder what the purchase agreement has to do with reviewing a Cybertruck. To answer this question, we need some background information on Doug DeMuro.

In addition to hosting one of the largest automotive YouTube channels, Doug DeMuro also runs Cars & Bids, the most prominent online automotive auction site in the US.

Doug leverages his YouTube videos to highlight some of the most exciting auctions on Cars & Bids, which drives a lot of traffic to his auction site.

In the past few months, Doug has been increasingly choosing cars offered for auction on Cars & Bids to review.

However, going back to Tesla’s Cybertruck order agreement, the EV maker has barred people from reselling their trucks on the secondary market. According to Doug, waiting for a person to post his or her Cybertruck on Cars & Bids for resale has been the reason for the delayed Cybertruck review.

So does this mean we won’t see a Cybertruck review until next year when Tesla finally allows people to sell their Cybertrucks on the secondary market?

According to Doug, he doesn’t believe Tesla has the right to ban people from reselling their vehicles, and the YouTuber is looking for brave Cybertruck owners to list their vehicles on Cars & Bids.

Currently, Doug hasn’t given a timeline for when he’ll post his Cybertruck review; however, we’ll be sure to keep you posted when we get further developments in the story. Until then, visit our site, torquenews.com/Tesla, regularly for the latest updates.
