2014 Mercedes CLA AMG Line is sporty and red

The all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA Class can be personalized to suit every taste with two equipment lines Urban and AMG Line, and three design packages.

When Mercedes introduced the Concept Style Coupe at Pebble Beach last year, the auto world couldn’t wait for the German automaker to transfer the new expressive design to a production vehicle. And Mercedes has seamlessly transferred the four-door coupe design to the all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA Class. Mercedes is looking for the CLA to “significantly form the Mercedes-Benz brand image going into the future. And Mercedes intends to reach a new target group of buyers with the CLA including those “who never intended driving a Mercedes.”

CLA can be personalized to suit every taste

In keeping with its sporty positioning, the new 2014 CLA is available with high-torque turbo engines rated up to 211 horsepower, sports suspension and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The technical highlights of this new design icon include a new world record in aerodynamics for series production automobiles (Cd value: 0.22) and numerous driving assistance systems.

With the "Urban" and "AMG Line" equipment lines, three design packages and numerous other optional extras, the CLA can be personalized to suit every taste. The exclusive CLA Edition 1 is limited and enticing and will only be available for twelve months. And the CLA 45 AMG will give Mercedes a fascinating high-performance vehicle in the compact class and broadens the portfolio of Mercedes-Benz's high-performance AMG brand.

AMG Line is sporty and red

There will be two equipment lines offered on the 2014 CLA, “Urban” and “AMG Line.” AMG Line will be offered on all versions with the exception of the CLA 180 BlueEfficiency Edition. The emphasis for the AMG Line is on the color red. The red emphasis will show up in the contrasting topstitching on the sports seats, the multifunction sports steering wheel in nappa leather with flattened lower section, and the armrests. Matching these appointments, will be stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs.

The exterior also gets special sporty AMG Line treatments that include a twin-pipe exhaust system with rectangular-section tailpipes in polished stainless steel, a diamond-pattern radiator grille with silver pins, 5-twin-spoke AMG 18-inch titanium-grey high-sheen light-alloy wheels, AMG bodystyling (front and rear aprons, side sill panels). If the customer chooses the "AMG Line", he or she will also receive a CLA-Class with sports suspension and lowered vehicle body, perforated front brake discs and front brake callipers with "Mercedes-Benz" lettering.

The "Urban" equipment line with emphasis on silver

The "Urban" equipment line can be combined with all the engine variants, except the CLA 180 BlueEfficiency Edition. It will feature sports seats with upholstery in ARTICO man-made leather/Corumba fabric. Seats, armrests, multifunction steering wheel and gearshift lever are all covered in nappa leather. The 3-spoke leather steering wheel features perforations in the grip area. The seating comfort package, the multifunction switch on the center console and the 12-V power outlet in the vehicle rear all come as standard.

The emphasis is on silver in the Urban line and features trim elements in silver wave-look, with matching air outlet vents with nozzle ring and cross in silver chrome. Outside, the Urban trim features a diamond radiator grille (with black pins, silver-colored louver and inserts in silver chrome. The twin-pipe exhaust with rectangular-section tailpipe trim is finished in polished stainless steel. The Urban also features a lowered body with sports suspension however, a comfort suspension is also optionally available. The "Urban" design and equipment line rides on 5-spoke 18-inch himalaya-grey light-alloy wheels.
