Four New Reasons to Crave the 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel

In an effort to escalate the pickup truck wars, Fiat Chrysler is adding dramatic upgrades to the 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel.

Everyone knows that the profit center for the Detroit Three right now is pickup trucks, with Fiat Chrysler’s Ram brand making huge inroads in sales. The 2020 Ram 1500 is one of the fastest selling vehicles across the board, in large part because of the variety of models available and also its affordability. Ram is planning some big changes to the 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel to draw even more buyers to the brand.

2020 Ram Rebel Black Appearance Package

Ram is upgrading the 2020 Ram Rebel Black Appearance package to make the powerful pickup even more menacing looking. The Black Appearance package features Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Paint, all-black wheels, front spoiler, skid plate, special badging and tow hooks. The LED head lamps have special black bezels and the interior is all black. A black and ruby red interior is an optional upgrade. Other versions of the 2020 Ram Rebel have some exterior graphic options. This could be one of the reasons why the 2020 Ram expects to lead the diesel segment.

“Buyers demand a good-looking truck with easy-to-use features. They often tell us that their Ram trucks are an extension of their personality and want to stand out from the crowd,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. “Whether it’s the off-road-enthusiast appeal of the Ram 1500 Rebel, the stylish Night editions or greater usability for the most powerful, most capable heavy-duty trucks, Ram trucks deliver features and durability that are winning over more and more buyers.”

2020 Ram 1500 Rebel Features New Safety Technology

It seems like every year the automakers develop ways to make pickup trucks easier to drive and handle. The 2020 Ram Rebel comes equipped with a new suite of safety technology to keep the driver aware of his or her surroundings. The new safety group includes Adaptive Cruise Control with technology called Stop, Go and Hold to help drivers avoid running into the vehicle ahead of them. The 2020 Ram Rebel also has an enhanced version of Lane Departure Warnings and automatic high-beams to make night driving safer.

2020 Ram Rebel is Even More Comfortable

Ram is making several creature comforts standard on the 2020 Ram Rebel. One of the new features that drivers will love is a new power tailgate release. That will come in especially handy for people who have to drop off items, like construction foremen dropping off supplies to crews. The 2020 Ram Rebel will also have wireless charging, heated rear seats and a 12-way power driver’s seat.

2020 Ram Rebel Can Have the EcoDiesel Powertrain

Last but not least, the 2020 Ram Rebel can have the all-new third-generation EcoDiesel powertrain. The 3.0-liter V-6 EcoDiesel will deliver 480 lb.-ft. of torque and towing capacity of 12,560 pounds. The 2020 Ram Rebel EcoDiesel should handle extremely well off-road and allow you to tow your ATV just about anywhere. Even though Ram is not yet announcing official fuel economy numbers, the new EcoDiesel is expected to get better numbers than the second-generation EcoDiesel.

Ram is announcing a number of upgrades to its 2020 Ram 1500 line, look for details in future stories. Also read one of my previous stories covering the 2020 Ram and titled "Driving the Rockies in the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, the 2020 Nissan Versa and 15 Other Game-Changing Vehicles."

Can you get a Ram Rebel without the red interior? I love the exterior....but why Ram thinks we all live red I'm not quite sure. A "normal" interior, gray, or something a little more mature would be nice.

I have no idea why Dodge decided to not put the 360 camera on the Rebel, any idea if it will be available for 2021. ?
