2024 GMC Sierra HD Adds Even More Luxury and Off-Road Capability

GMC is offering two new trim levels to guarantee the brand stays at the top of the truck food chain. A new 2024 Sierra HD Denali Ultimate adds even more luxury while the new Sierra HD AT4X will take you off-roading in comfort and style.

GMC has always prided itself on providing truck buyers the best of everything. The new 2024 GMC Sierra HD adds more luxury appointments, more capability, especially with towing and off-roading and more technology. Two new trims telegraph what they will be offering. The first 2024 Sierra HD Denali Ultimate promises more luxury, technology and towing. Similar to the light-duty GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X, the Sierra HD AT4X promises premiere off-roading power.

“The new and enhanced 2024 Sierra HD builds on an already winning foundation,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “This truck elevates the HD segment with the introductions of the Denali Ultimate trim and will soon add the seriously off-road capable AT4X trim, further strengthening the dominance of the GMC truck portfolio.”

Heavy Duty Highlights:

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD is adding more technology. GMC has added a larger infotainment touchscreen. The new tablet-style screen will be the largest offered in Heavy Duty trucks at 13.4-inches measured diagonally.

The 2024 Sierra HD will have the most trailering assistance technologies in its class. GMC’s ProGrade trailering system has up to 14 camera views. There is also a fascinating industry-first view called Transparent Trailer View for Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Trailering. The enhanced camera system allows the driver to virtually “see through” the trailer. The system uses the camera mounted on the rear of the truck and an accessory camera on the back of the trailer. The system pieces together a view of the area behind the truck and trailer as if the trailer was not there, improving visibility. The new-improved version of this technology for model year 2024 enables compatibility with gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers. There are also cameras to help you line up those trailers. GMC offers Hitch Guidance with Hitch View which provides a close-up view of the receiver hitch to help with alignment when connecting to a trailer.

2024 GMC Sierra HD Offers Two Impressive Engines

GMC is emphasizing that it is offering a powerful 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V-8. It will deliver 470 horsepower and 975 lb.-ft. of torque. An all-new, more efficient turbocharger with improved efficiency will boost low-end torque 25% which means a greater feeling of power on demand. It is promising best-in-class towing with up to 21,900 pounds on 2500HD Crew Cab.

The 2024 Sierra HD is also offered with a standard 6.6L gas engine. The 6.6L engine delivers a solid 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 2024 Sierra HD lineup adds a revised front bumper, fascia, grille designs and finishes on each trim level. New wheel designs on SLE, AT4, Denali and larger 18-inch polished aluminum wheels on dual rear-wheel models. Plus, it offers new 22-inch accessory wheels.

New Sierra HD Denali Ultimate Luxury Model

The new ultra-luxurious Sierra HD Denali Ultimate adds even more elegance to the overall design. The Denali Ultimate is distinguished by a unique grille and GMC badging in exclusive Vader chrome, along with exclusive 20-inch Ultra-bright machined aluminum wheels. The Denali Ultimate has unique fender badging featuring topography of Mount Denali, the highest point in North America. Additionally, Denali Ultimate will include a six-way MultiPro Tailgate with a standard Kicker audio system. Power assist steps also come standard.

Inside, full-grain leather and open-pore Paldao wood meticulously adorn the interior trim. The wood’s darkened finish creates a distinctive color blend, while the unique graining adds bespoke attention to detail.

Other HD Denali Ultimate Features Include:

  • Full-grain leather-wrapped door panels with stainless-steel speaker grilles
  • Full-grain leather front and rear seats with the Denali Ultimate badge on the front seatbacks and center console lid
  • All-new 16-way power-adjustable and massaging front seats
  • 12-speaker Bose Premium series with surround technology
