Family Survives Fallen Giant Tree On Tesla Model 3

Shortly after a woman's family experienced a giant tree crashing on their Tesla Model 3, she was able to share her experience with a news station. She and her other three family members were able to get out of the Tesla Model 3, all unharmed.

She said this:

My family and I were on 19th MLK crossover and were going to enjoy our Monday off and go to the Westfield Valley Mall. It was back to back traffic and the next thing you know, I could see - I was in the back passenger side - I could see the Eucalyptus tree and the light post come crashing down on our car because we have a glass ceiling. Luckily, nobody in my family was hurt.

She was asked how terrifying this was and she said:

I don't think there are words to describe this. It's slow motion coming down and then as soon as that tree falls down on you, everything goes silent and the first thing that was my concern was making sure that nobody in my car - none of my family members were injured - luckily nobody was hurt, there was no blood, just a lot of glass.

This woman was asked if her family was able to get out, and she said she was able to get out on her own. She was on the backseat passenger side and was able to get out on her own.

Someone from the car behind opened the car door and helped get the others out. Her husband and her son had to climb from the front seat to the back seat to get out.

Her car is the blue Tesla in the picture. She was told that Tesla's have very strong reinforced steel and the Tesla could have saved her life.

She responded to that with:

Yes it certainly did, despite having a glass ceiling, so we were very lucky - even all the cars around us, nobody was hurt. I think we had a guardian angel watching over us today.

Tesla's Safety Is Unparalleled

A while ago, there was an incident of another giant tree falling on a Tesla and the occupants surviving that as well.

Tesla vehicles are built with very strong frames. So strong, in fact, that an owner of a Tesla Model S has driven over 1.2 million miles and the car frame is still holding up strong.

A Tesla was also driven off a cliff last year and the occupants survived that fall as well.

In 2013, a Tesla Model S even broke the machine that the NHTSA uses for roof-crush evaluations.

Tesla vehicles are incredibly durable with a strong center of gravity due to the batter underneath the car, making them resistant to being rolled over as well. I've experienced this strong center of gravity on icy roads, and the sliding wasn't nearly as bad as my prior non-Tesla vehicle.

Tesla's active safety features through software are also constantly at work. A recent video showed numerous incidents of these safety features helping avoid accidents.

One thing that Tesla should resolve is the safety of the frunk in the Cybertruck. Right now, it doesn't have any sensors that stop it from closing if something is in the way.
