New Tesla Roadster Release "Imminent" According To Someone Speaking With Two Senior Tesla Technicians

Someone claims to have spoken with two Tesla senior technicians, who said they are beginning their training for the New Tesla Roadster. Does this mean the release is imminent?

New Tesla Roadster

A new post on X is getting a lot of attention and this time, it's about the New Tesla Roadster. This is the next generation of Tesla's original flagship vehicle that started it all. I was able to ride in an original Tesla Roadster back in early 2015 and that was my first time in a Tesla.

Original Tesla Roadster

The experience in that Tesla Roadster was amazing and my first experience feeling the quick acceleration of a Tesla vehicle. I had already been listening to Elon Musk for a couple of years on YouTube up to that point. It would be a couple of years after this experience that I began investing in Tesla stock.

I began to research everything I could about Tesla vehicles and listened to Elon Musk as much as I could. I realized there was something special here. Even years before this, I think I knew there was something special about Tesla, but it takes time to truly integrate knowledge, and this ride definitely helped with that.

Now, there is a report that Tesla is training its senior technicians on the New Tesla Roadster, which may mean that the next version of this, over a decade later, is about to release. I hope this is true because this vehicle was revealed over 6 years ago (December 14th 2017). It's time for Tesla to build this!

Of course, it's important to be realistic about what is truly important for Tesla. As a fan of the New Roadster, I want to see it, but I think Tesla's biggest priorities are the compact car and building a Gigafactory in India where they can build the sub-compact car.

Tesla's Release of the New Roadster

If Tesla releases the New Roadster this year, which I think is a long shot, but if they do, I don't think it is going to have 620 miles of range. The reason is that Tesla's philosophy on range seems to be around 300 miles of EPA range being enough.

Even if a 100 kWh will get Tesla to 620 miles of range, Tesla will do a smaller battery - 90 kWh or less - to have the range be more around 400 miles of range, on par with a Model S Long range. In fact, I predict the battery size to be around 75 kWh for the New Roadster. It will be a light vehicle with an aero-dynamic shape and won't need a ton of battery.

Last year, it was reported that the next generation New Tesla Roadster and engineering design would be complete and start production this year, according to Sawyer Merritt on X. The post is still up, so I'm inclined to believe that this "could" be true.

Because I'm so interested in the New Tesla Roadster releasing, I don't want to get my hopes up. It's on par with the Cybertruck in terms of excitement and what I want to see come out from Tesla - even though I know it's not what is going to make Tesla a larger company.

I expect the New Tesla Roadster to have these specs:

* Battery: Around 75 kWh to 90 kWh (depending on the SpaceX Rocket option)
* Range: About 400 to 450 miles of range
* 0-60 mph: 1.9 seconds (1.3 with the SpaceX Rocket option)
* Cost: $250,000 ($300,000 with SpaceX Rocket)
* 48-volt architecture with steer-by-wire
* 800 volt charging
* Tri or Quad motors
* Fun Factor: 11/10

Needless to say, I have some work to do to be able to afford this - even the down payment, $50,000, will take some time - years - for me to afford.
