Inside the Mind of Elon Musk - Offer Me Money, Power - I Don't Care: Humanity Comes First

Elon Musk had an interview this year with CNBC and something he said was very clear in how he thinks. He doesn't care about money or power - he cares about humanity.

Elon Musk Doesn't Want Money or Power

Back in May, Elon Musk did an interview with CNBC, and it showed up on my feed today and what he said was so impactful to me that I wanted to share it here with all of you.

Elon Musk was being asked about how the things he says impact Twitter (now X) and Tesla and that people are leaving his brands because of the things he is saying and posting and that he needs to stop.

Elon Musk responded and referenced a scene in the movie, The Princess Bride, where Inigo Montoya, who lost his father, is dueling Count Rugen, who killed his father. Inigo says, offer me money and power too, to which Count Rugen promises yes to.

Elon Musk referenced this saying, "Offer me money, offer me power, I don't care." The interviewer said that Elon Musk doesn't care, which I don't think is true.

I think what Elon Musk was saying was clear - he is going to say what he wants to say and if the consequence of doing that is losing money, then so be it. To understand this rationale, you have to understand the mind of Elon Musk.

The Mind of Elon Musk

The mind of Elon Musk is an interesting thing. I've seen him talking with Joe Rogan, and they were talking about his mind and Elon Musk said it is essentially a non-stop idea factory that never shuts off.

I can also tell that Elon Musk genuinely cares about humanity. He wants the future to be bright and sustainable. He also sees the future in a way that I don't think many other people do.

Elon Musk sees a future where money doesn't matter that much. The reason Tesla is such a critical company is that it creates energy from the sun, which is free. That energy, when harnessed, doesn't cost any money outside of maintenance of batteries and solar panels.

In the future, the Tesla Bot will be able to gather battery materials, recycle batteries, create batteries, create solar panels, and install them in homes, power plants, and places of business. Humans won't need to be involved in order to get energy. Energy will be limitless and abundant in the future.

I think that's why Elon Musk says whatever he wants because in his mind, he believes that the future of humanity won't be reliant on money. He believes that he is playing an important role for humanity to transform into a better civilization, and therefore, he's not going to filter himself to keep advertisers or people buying a Tesla vehicle for money.

I, for one, look forward to this future, but I think we are a long way from getting there - many decades or more, but it is still a future that is exciting to think about.
