Josh, a Tesla enthusiast from Texas, shares that during a recent family gathering, he persuaded his in-laws to buy a Tesla.

Josh explains that during the gathering, he and his wife brought a Cybertruck and a Tesla Model S, and started offering test drives.

Not only did the in-laws get to test drive the vehicles, but they also experienced Tesla’s full self-driving software for the first time.

Josh was excited to share his love of Tesla with his extended family, but what surprised him was that his in-laws were so impressed with Tesla that they bought a Model Y on their way home from the family gathering.

The mom now owns a Tesla Model Y, and if that wasn’t enough, the stepdad also says he plans to get a Model X soon.

Josh says that after one test drive, his in-laws went from never having owned an electric vehicle to becoming an all-EV household.

Josh was excited about these developments and shared his story on X.

He wrote...

“BUTTS IN SEATS. Family gathering for Thanksgiving, and my wife, Amanda, and I brought both the Model S and Cybertruck.

We gave Amanda’s mom and stepdad a ride in the Model S and demonstrated FSD.

Then we let her mom drive it back to the gathering and engage FSD. They were blown away.

The next day (yesterday), we were driving to Austin for the weekend when we received a text from her mom saying she bought a new Model Y Long Range AWD while driving back home to Tennessee.

They had her specific order at the lot in Knoxville, so they took delivery from there today—less than 48 hours after their first test drive in our vehicle.

She called after their hour-long drive back home and said she absolutely loved the vehicle.

She mentioned how easy the buying and delivery process was and how impressed they were with FSD.

Her husband is now planning to order a new Tesla Model X to replace his current vehicle.

In just a few weeks, they will have gone from no EVs to two Teslas.

Oh, and she has already subscribed to FSD.”

Below his post, Josh included a picture of his mother-in-law’s new red Tesla Model Y with temporary plates.

Josh managed to convince his extended family to buy two Tesla vehicles from a single test drive, which is pretty impressive. And looking at the comments, Fellow Tesla fans agreed that “butts in seats” is the best way to sell Tesla vehicles.

A fellow Tesla enthusiast, Chansoo Byeon, writes...

“This is the way

Families don't let families spend more money on other worthless things

Tesla is the way.”

Another Tesla fan commented...

“Once you experience a Tesla, it's hard to go back to an internal combustion vehicle.”

A third fan added...

“How cool! I was that guy for my family. Bought my first Tesla Model S in 2018, and now everyone in the family is on board. It's so obvious!”

Even Tesla's official account, which has over 24 million followers, chimed in with a heart emoji in response to Josh’s post.

Overall, Tesla and EV fans seem pleased with how things turned out. However, please let me know what you think in the comments.
