Subaru ranks number one among all automakers according to a new ranking from Roy Morgan and Canstar Blue's annual customer satisfaction awards. They say Subaru is best at meeting customer expectations.
According to Australia's most extensive national customer satisfaction surveys, Subaru outperformed all other car brands in meeting and sometimes even exceeding customer expectations. The research carried out by Roy Morgan crowned Subaru the Major Car Manufacturer of the Year in terms of customer satisfaction.
The latest Roy Morgan and Canstar Blue customer satisfaction awards in the automotive categories didn't include Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, or luxury brand Lexus.
The automaker's customer satisfaction is rated across its vehicle lineup, scoring the model's performance, reliability, and the services the car brand offers customers. It includes sales support after the sales and servicing the vehicle.

What is Subaru doing that other brands aren't to keep their customers satisfied?
Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine says 2021 was the second and hopefully final year heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenging circumstances, many companies stepped up and provided high levels of customer satisfaction.
"The 33 businesses honored in this year's Roy Morgan Annual Customer Satisfaction Awards have thrived despite the adversity of 2021 and can look forward with confidence to deal with the new challenges of rising prices and interest rates, having satisfied their customers at a higher level than any of their competitors," says Levine.
The Roy Morgan and Canstar Blue awards use customer surveys to choose the winners. Around 60,000 consumers across Australia were surveyed as part of the Roy Morgan Single Source survey and 9000 Australians for the Canstar Blue survey.
How well is Subaru of America doing in customer satisfaction?
According to a recent American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) study, Subaru of America ranks number two among mainstream automakers.
The ACSI study asks customers to evaluate their recent experiences with their car brand between July 6, 2020, and June 28, 2021. Among mainstream (non-luxury) car brands, Honda scores number one with a score of 82. Subaru ranks number two with a score of 81, a 3 percent increase over last year's study when they scored 79 points.
The study revealed Subaru customers were most satisfied with the vehicle's safety technology, dependability, and driving performance.
Subaru scored higher than Ram, who scored 80 points (number one in 2020), and higher than Hyundai, Mazda, and Toyota, who all tied with a score of 79. Dodge, Ford, GMC, and Nissan rounded out the top ten non-luxury automakers.
