Tesla is one of the most well known names in the modern day automotive industry. It is the leading automotive manufacturer for battery powered cars. Yes, that means zero gasoline usage. It is without question that the evil genius behind this company, Elon Musk, has done anything except the abnormal. Their brand released their first car in 2008 and today in 2020 it is one of the most popular and practical options you can get on the market. Tesla’s have entered the market from the top down as they are quickly on their way to meet the $20,000 to $30,000 price mark, but their most popular models are $35,000 and above.

The brand is most noted by their quirky leader, their long range capabilities under one singular charge, their surprising performance aspects, and their cutting edge technology. Currently, the Model S holds the record for the longest range on one charge which was 370 miles, but Elon claims 400 miles is coming soon and also claims that the coming soon 2nd gen Tesla Roadster will not only be the fastest production car, but it will also have a range of 620 miles which is absurd.

The makers of Model S have been in the news recently for a higher-than-normal rate of total drivetrain replacement, with several highly publicized examples. Tesla has deftly responded by offering a nearly unrivaled warranty.

Tesla Motors’ first car, the Lotus-based Roadster, ended production in 2012 so the company could focus on the higher-volume Models S and X. A new report suggests the Roadster will be revived in 2017, although we find that timetable unlikely.

Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk is always one to think big and talk big. He usually delivers, too, which is what makes a couple of his comments from Thursday’s conference call so interesting.

Though overshadowed by big Gigafactory news, Tesla released strong second quarter sales numbers and repeated its lofty target for the end of the year.

It was a big news day for Tesla – in addition to releasing strong second quarter sales numbers, the company announced the long-awaited Gigafactory deal with battery supplier Panasonic.

Ah, the joys of speculation. Since activity was reported at the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center that looked suspiciously like Gigafactory construction, new reports have emerged that the site may already have been shut down. Meanwhile, California continues to make its case to Tesla.

Nissan surprised some people when it announced LEAF replacement batteries will cost just $5,499 plus the return of the old pack. The company has now confirmed it is subsidizing the cost to an undisclosed degree.

Since Tesla Motors is still keeping the chosen site(s) under wraps, some have taken it upon themselves to find out where the Tesla Gigafactory will be located. There is now strong evidence that Reno, Nevada is at the very least a final candidate.

Two iron-willed drivers from the car shopping site Edmunds.com drove a Tesla Model S from Redondo Beach, California to New York, NY in just 67 hours and 21 minutes. The feat is further demonstration that taking a Tesla on long road trips is becoming more and more convenient.

As far as names go, Tesla doesn’t delve too deeply into the depths of creativity. Somehow it seems to work quite well, and the naming of their most important car yet follows the pattern.

Just over three months after the news was made public that a Wisconsin lawyer planned to file a lemon lawsuit against Tesla on behalf of his client, the self-proclaimed “lemon law king” released yet another video concluding the saga.

A misinformed jab at Tesla’s Supercharger network by fuel cell-minded Hyundai and a counter-punch from the electric automaker remind us that car companies really don’t like being linked to government backing, yet this will become an increasingly important issue.

This weekend at least three people were killed in a Toyota Corolla when a driver in a Tesla Model S rear-ended them. Could a safety feature found on most cars in the Tesla’s price range, but not on Teslas, have prevented the tragedy?

In analyzing the Gigafactory plans, it's clear the CEO Elon Musk has no plans to improve the batteries themselves. So the big "breakthrough" in battery tech that EV enthusiasts always claim is coming anytime now? Well..

Tesla has had problems with Model S battery fires before. Very early on July 4 another Tesla caught fire after a collision resulting in an aftermath that must be seen to be believed.

The electrification movement has largely ignored the segment that arguably needs it the most: pickup trucks. With one notable exception, we still won’t be seeing electric pickups on the road for some time.
