Tesla is one of the most well known names in the modern day automotive industry. It is the leading automotive manufacturer for battery powered cars. Yes, that means zero gasoline usage. It is without question that the evil genius behind this company, Elon Musk, has done anything except the abnormal. Their brand released their first car in 2008 and today in 2020 it is one of the most popular and practical options you can get on the market. Tesla’s have entered the market from the top down as they are quickly on their way to meet the $20,000 to $30,000 price mark, but their most popular models are $35,000 and above.

The brand is most noted by their quirky leader, their long range capabilities under one singular charge, their surprising performance aspects, and their cutting edge technology. Currently, the Model S holds the record for the longest range on one charge which was 370 miles, but Elon claims 400 miles is coming soon and also claims that the coming soon 2nd gen Tesla Roadster will not only be the fastest production car, but it will also have a range of 620 miles which is absurd.

A recent email from a Tesla dealer caught the attention of the Tesla Motors Club. A very interesting and unusual sentence was in this email “We are offering showroom incentives up to $30,000 off the original configuration price.” This phrase is not one Tesla themselves say often, and with a standard list no lower than $75,000 did the Model S and Model X just drop in price, if so why now?

In 2006 Elon Musk wrote what he called the "Tesla Mater Plan." He’s nearly completed it and has since written part two. He envisions a world where every vehicle is electric and. Musk wants to cover all facets of vehicular transportation, but he just hit a bit of a bump in the road. A few weeks ahead of Tesla’s scheduled semi concept debut; Cummins unveiled its new electric powertrain.

I’m certain that is what Elon Musk is hoping it will be and it seems to have that potential. CEO Elon Musk said that Tesla Semi will out torque any diesel truck and it will enable long distance trucking with full loads. If a report from Scott Perry, an executive at Ryder System is to be believed, the Tesla Semi will have 200-300 mile range which would limit its uses to local & regional freight routes.

Earlier this year, Tesla Model S owners discovered that the automaker was restricting power output in certain models equipped with its "Ludicrous" performance mode. The limits were tied to frequent use of "Launch Mode," essentially Tesla's version of launch control. Most would say no, not by a longshot. Tesla owners are probably ok, especially Model S & Model X owners since they get 1000 miles work of free supercharger access. It is everyone else that may find it hard to find an open EVSE once the public starts buying EVs in mass.
