Ram Debuts New 2024 ProMaster EV

Ram enters the delivery truck EV competition with its 2024 ProMaster EV.

Ram is jumping into the EV delivery van market with its 2024 Ram ProMaster EV. The new vehicle looks just like the gasoline model but the unibody design is outfitted with a battery that gets 162 miles on a charge in city driving. The van is Ram’s first BEV for the North American market. It will come in two models, a delivery van can be ordered now, a longer cargo van will be available in the future.

“The introduction of the Ram ProMaster EV represents another major milestone on our electrification journey as we continue to evolve without sacrificing capability,” said Tim Kuniskis, Ram brand CEO – Stellantis. “Ram’s first available electric vehicle is a game-changer, offering commercial customers, large and small, the ultimate van in zero-emissions performance, commercial capability and advanced technology.”

The new Ram ProMaster EV will be available in two  configurations. There is the delivery model, which can be ordered now and two cargo models will be available later, one 12 feet long and the other is an extended 13.5 foot model.

The vans will be capable of Level 3 DC fast charging at 50 kilowatts (kW), 85kW, 125 kW, 150 kW. A wall box charger (Level 2) with up to 11 kW is available.

The Ram ProMaster EV delivery vehicle offers a rear roll-up door to make cargo loading and unloading easier. The roll-up door is constructed with anodized aluminum for weight optimization and durability. A pocket door is also standard on the Ram ProMaster EV delivery van to give easy access to cargo. The delivery van offers 2,030 pounds of payload. The longer cargo van will have up to 3,020 pounds of payload.

Special Programs for Fleets

Ram Telematics will be available to help fleet managers track the vehicle’s location. The special telematics technology can also help with helping reduce fuel costs, improve route efficiency and promote safer driving behaviors. Ram Telematics also offers real-time vehicle diagnostics and performance data.

The Ram ProMaster has a 360-degree Surround View camera. The system offers 360-degree, bird’s-eye views of the vehicle and its surroundings. The vehicle also has a backup camera enhanced by dynamic grid lines. The van features a 10.1-inch digital touchscreen display.

Cargo is King

Cargo-handling capability is the number one consideration for van buyers. The ProMaster EV offers 524 cubic feet of cargo space. The new EV van includes standard features such as best-in-class interior cargo height of 86 inches, low load-floor height, best-in-class cargo width between wheel wells and maximum cargo width. The EV battery is hidden beneath the vehicle’s floor.
