GMC Reveals Update on the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X

We will see the entire 2023 GMC Canyon August 11, 2022, including the AT4X Edition 1 premium off-roading package.

GMC will reveal the 2023 Canyon AT4X midsize truck on August 11, just two weeks after revealing its cousin, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. Both pickups are loaded with off-road capability. The 2023 Canyon will have a premium AT4X Edition 1 package.

The Canyon AT4X has undergone rigorous development and testing in Moab, Utah, to help ensure the AT4X’s position as the most advanced and off-road capable Canyon ever. The preview picture is a front view of the Canyon AT4X with the Edition 1 package from the passenger’s side. It shows the new Canyon’s higher and wider stance, which is factory lifted for optimal ground clearance.

The 2023 model will be the first time that GMC is adding the impressive AT4X trim to the Canyon lineup, offering premium and advanced off-road capability. The AT4X premium off-roading package was first introduced on the 2022 GMC Sierra. The AT4X trim is an even tougher off-road model of GMC’s increasingly popular AT4 sub-brand.

2023 GMC Canyon AT4X to Compete With 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss and Desert Boss

Details surrounding the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss and Desert Boss off-roading packages were released last week. GMC versions are typically even more capable and luxurious.

The Top-of-the-Line Colorado Desert Boss Package Includes:

  • 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels
  • Off-road bumper and front fascia
  • Sports bar with Sail Panel
  • Roof-mounted light bar
  • 3” Lift Kit

The Colorado also has a high-clearance front fascia, including cut-out corners. The ZR2 has modified front and rear bumpers for better approach and departure angles. To make the truck tougher and more capable it has cast-iron control arms and selectable front and rear electronic locking differentials and underbody skid plates.
Potential buyers can expect the top-of-the-line GMC Canyon AT4X to have similar or upgraded appointments. Both vehicles are expected to carry the latest technology, including more camera angles.

GMC will start taking 2023 Canyon AT4X with Edition 1 package reservations on August 11, 2022. Availability, pricing and fuel economy will be announced at a future date.
