Having one model make the Car and Driver magazine’s 10Best list is a reason to celebrate. Car and Driver magazine’s 10Best is one of the longest-running, most prestigious awards in the automotive industry. Every year, Car and Driver editors name their 10 favorite vehicles on sale that year in both the "Cars" and "Trucks and SUVs" category, determined by weeks of  testing. This year GM has an incredible six vehicles on the list. The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and E-Ray make repeat appearances on this year’s rundown. The 2026 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and the 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing are also back for more honors.

For 10Best Trucks and SUVs, the 2026 Chevrolet Trax is back on the rundown, while the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and 2026 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL are also winning acclaim.

“Our annual 10Best list is the ultimate guide for shoppers and the ultimate achievement for the industry,” says Car and Driver Editor-in-Chief Tony Quiroga. “For more than 40 years, only 10Best has recognized not just the best of what’s new but the best of what’s available in the new-vehicle marketplace.”

“The Car and Driver 10Best awards have long been the gold standard for excellence in this business,” says GM President Mark Reuss. “For the editors to recognize so many of our models, from such a wide range of segments and price points across our broad portfolio, is a huge honor. Congratulations to everyone on all the teams who brought us these great vehicles.”

2026 Chevrolet Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette is a perennial winner. The Corvette exemplifies the best Chevy has to offer. Several different generations of ‘Vette have been honored. The Corvette has earned 27 wins during the 43-year history of the award. This year marks the 10th appearance in a row for a Corvette model. For 2026, Car and Driver editors honored both the Stingray and the performance hybrid E-Ray.

2026 Cadillac Blackwings Excel

Since their first appearance in 2022, both the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing have remained on the 10Best Cars list. Car and Driver editors praised the Cadillac performance sedans for their blend of track-ready capability paired with luxury you’d expect from a Cadillac.

The Affordable 2026 Chevrolet Trax

The Chevrolet Trax, which starts at an MSRP of $21,900, won favor with Car and Driver staff for its affordability. The small Trax was redesigned in 2024 and immediately made the 2024 10Best SUVs and Trucks list. It continues to win points for practicality and technology in an affordable package.

2026 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban and GMC Yukon

GM’s spent a bundle this year updating its bread and butter vehicles. The 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are huge profit centers for GM and they received significant updates. GM’s full-size SUVs impressed Car and Driver editors with their capability and luxury. Both the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and the GMC Yukon/Yukon XL models share a spot on the 10Best Trucks and SUVs list.

What I find surprising about the Truck award is that it doesn’t mention the Cadillac Escalade, which is the luxury version of the same SUV.

These aren’t the only awards GM has driven off with this year. As I reported previously, TopGear.com honored GM with three category wins in its inaugural U.S. Awards. Also, the Cadillac ESCALADE IQ earned MotorTrend’s SUV of the Year for 2025.
