The British automaker announced a $25 million investment and partnership with ride-hailing company Lyft via their InMotion mobility services wing. The partnership will see the two work on developing and testing autonomous vehicles. JLR will also provide a fleet of vehicles to Lyft drivers.

“This is a strategic investment for both parties as we focus on innovating new mobility solutions for our customers. Collaborating with an expanding technology business like Lyft is going to help us both accelerate our ambitions,” said Hanno Kirner, Jaguar Land Rover’s executive director of Corporate and Strategy in a statement.

“We’re excited to join forces with Jaguar Land Rover and InMotion. Lyft envisions a future where shared mobility will transform cities and improve people’s lives. This partnership will help us achieve that ambitious goal,” said John Zimmer, Lyft President and Co-founder.

Jaguar Land Rover has recently begun testing autonomous vehicles on public roads and plans on having 100 autonomous vehicles in the next three years.
