Homero, a Cybertruck owner from Florida, says that back in July, he and his wife sold their Tesla Model Ys and bought two Cybertrucks.
At first, the couple were happy with their decision; however, fast forward three months, and the all-in Cybertruck family is beginning to question whether they made the right choice.
Both Cybertrucks are now facing several issues, and Homero says he’s losing trust in Tesla.
The frustrated Cybertruck owner shared his story on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum.
He writes…
“I need reassuring words. I’m losing trust.
My wife and I sold both our Model Ys and bought two Cybertrucks in July. We were absolutely delighted, and I even drove 4,500 miles from South Florida to Maine and back, almost entirely on FSD.
But then problems started on both trucks—offset steering wheels, an ever-increasing rattling noise on the steering wheel cover, a clunk noise when accelerating and braking.”
This is definitely not ideal; however, Homero says what’s making things worse is the lack of service.
He continues…
“Although I submitted a written report and requested service, I can’t get in because the service center is overwhelmed and is prioritizing safety defects.”
A three-month-old vehicle plagued with problems is one thing; however, being unable to get those issues resolved makes matters more complicated.
Homero is starting to doubt whether buying two Cybertrucks was a good choice; however, he notes that beyond his personal experience, he’s developing a broader reservation about Tesla.
Specifically, Homero questions whether Tesla has deprioritized the Cybertruck, and considering all the other projects at the EV maker, he wonders if the all-electric truck might be sidelined.
He writes…
“I just read that the Cybertruck management left Tesla, and with so many projects ahead, are Cybertrucks being pushed as a non-priority product?
Thank you for your thoughts. I hope our concerns are unfounded.”
So far, Homero definitely doesn’t seem happy with his Cybertruck ownership experience; however, looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners downplayed his concerns.
A fellow Cybertruck owner, Phil, says it’s not reasonable to expect the Cybertruck to have the same build quality as the Tesla Model Y.
Phil writes…
“While I understand your frustration, comparing a Tesla Model Y to a Cybertruck isn't really fair, and I don't think it's a reason to lose faith.
The Model Y is the best-selling car around and has been refined over millions of miles.
The Cybertruck is new, featuring numerous innovative technologies that have not yet had extensive real-world experience.
Just make your service appointments, and they will fix it. FYI, I own both a Model Y and a Cybertruck.
The Cybertruck does have its share of issues, but nothing unfixable. As they gain more experience, they will also improve their fixes.”
Another Cybertruck owner recommends building a good relationship with Tesla service employees to get better service.
This Cybertruck owner recommends bringing food and gifts during service visits.
He writes…
“Work on building strong relationships with the service center because they appreciate food and gifts.
Get to know the overall site leader and the service department manager. My local center loves me; we never wait for appointments, and they go the extra mile after we’ve built these relationships. Be nice, as it goes a long way.”
This is definitely an interesting strategy; however, please let me know what you think in the comments.

How is this not part of the cyberturd ownership experience? We've know for better than two years that these are awful vehicles with horrific reliability, and he still bought two of them? Who does that, right?
