A Tesla Cybertruck Owner Says, “Compared to My Ford F-250 Super Duty, a Cybertruck Feels Like Switching From a Dinosaur to a Spaceship.” He Adds, “I Thought I Was Going to Keep Both, But I Only Need the Cybertruck”

Mike, a brand-new Cybertruck owner from Texas, says the gap between his new Cybertruck and his current Ford F-250 Super Duty has been surprising.

Mike says the Cybertruck feels like a spaceship compared to the Ford F-250, which feels like a dinosaur.

Mike initially planned to keep both trucks, but after driving the Cybertruck for a short time, he has decided to sell the Ford F-250.

Mike believes that if he must choose between the two vehicles, he will select the Cybertruck every time and will never drive the Ford F-250.

The happy Cybertruck owner shared his thoughts on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum.

He writes…

“I picked up my new Cybertruck All-Wheel-Drive.

I thought a picture would show the difference between my new Cybertruck and my Ford F-250. It’s like going from a dinosaur to a spaceship.

I’ve been using FSD 98% of the time and am still amazed at how well it works.

I was planning to keep the Ford, but I’m starting to think that may not be necessary, since I’ll be using the Cybertruck all the time anyway.”

Finally, Mike concludes his post by saying he’s glad he didn't listen to all the negative reports about the Cybertruck and went ahead and bought the vehicle.

He writes…

“I’m glad I did not just doom surf about the Cybertruck like I usually do, and really started watching people on this site with their pictures and stories to show that this is a good truck.

Thanks for your input. Tesla Cybertruck. Cybertruck meets Bubba truck.”

Below his post, Mike includes a photo of his white Ford F-250 Super Duty, towering over his bare stainless-steel Cybertruck.

However, instead of focusing on the size difference and capabilities, Mike appears to view the Ford F-250’s exterior as a dinosaur and the Cybertruck’s design as a spaceship.

Overall, Mike appears very happy with the Cybertruck, and looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners say they, too, came from conventional trucks and couldn’t be happier with their decision.

A fellow Cybertruck owner writes…

“Congrats on your Cybertruck!

Same here... Before we got our Cybertruck, I thought I'd never let go of my RAM workhorse.

Then we found out the Cybertruck could do everything we needed, plus more.

The Cybertruck is an incredible vehicle.

Another Cybertruck owner, Decker, writes…

“Same story... sold a Ram 3500 Cummings HO MegaCab and thought it would be missed... it hasn't!”

A third Cybertruck owner from Washington responds…

“Welcome to the 21st century! Glad you like your new truck!”

A fourth Cybertruck owner, Ace, writes…

“You made a great choice.

Conventional wisdom is exactly as it sounds. It's conventional.

Happy holidays and happy Cybertrucking.”

A fifth Cybertruck owner writes…

“Sell the internal combustion engine truck. It will depreciate while you hesitate and consider it.

Nobody needs two vehicles this size.”

Overall, a lot of Cybertruck owners seem convinced their vehicles are miles ahead of conventional trucks from Ram & Ford. However, please let me know what you think in the comments.

How do you hook up a gooseneck trailer to it to haul a load of cattle..or haul a load of hay with it? Im thinking this cybertruck would not get those jobs done.

F250 owner here and a big fan of Tesla. I will pick the F250 over the cybertruck any day of the week. For less money than the cybertruck, I have far greater towing capacity (16,000 lbs vs. 7,000 lbs for the Cybertruck) and from what I've seen of the many videos, better offroad capability, and from what I've seen of the cybertruck itself, far greater cargo room in the F250. I bought my truck to do truck things, and again for less money, the F250 does more truck things, and does them better. Now, for commuting back and forth to work and long distance trips where I'm only hauling family, luggage and pets, I am patiently saving for a Model Y (or another electric SUV that delivers similar value and performance). I love Tesla for its innovation and for paving the way for mass-produced electric vehicles, but now there is so much out there that delivers similar value for less money. I hope that Tesla can take advantage of its early lead and stay ahead in innovations that make the extra premium worth it. The Cybertruck failed me on this, but every automaker is allowed to have a bad product from time to time. Fingers crossed that Tesla retakes the lead with more groundbreaking products, that deliver value that's worth their asking price. It's getting tougher to do with more competition, but that's how this works.

Obviously not a real truck driver.

Apples and oranges. He (or any of the others that commented in the article) obviously didn't need an F250, just wanted one for the "cool" factor. The Cyber Truck is highly impractical as a towing vehicle, anybody that regularly tows heavy will use the Ford, Ram or Chevy diesels over the Cyber Truck without question.

Sounds like there might be some confirmation bias in those comments...

I own a Tesla Model 3, and a Ford Super Duty F350. I have the F-350 for towing a travel trailer. A Cyber truck technically could pull the trailer, but I'm not about to spend half of every day that I'm traveling charging, or unhooking and reconnecting the trailer so I can even the plug the Cybertruck into a charger. Anyone that has a Super Duty for towing IS NOT going to be close to the definition of happy with a Cybertruck instead. Anybody that has a Super Duty and isn't using it for towing, probably doesn't have a strong use case for owning the Super Duty to begin with.

Different strokes for different folks. If you are towing heavy loads over long distances, you may need an ICE vehicle. If you are staying local, the cyber vehicle may work for you. Good luck with your new truck.
