Watch Ken Block’s Ford Fiesta ST vs Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes F1 [video]

Take Ken Block’s Global Rallycross Ford Fiesta ST and Ken Hamilton’s Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 race car, mix in the idyllic Caribbean island of Barbados and you have a recipe for extreme fun. It was the Top Gear Festival Barbados last weekend and it was a boat-load of fun for the spectators. Global Rallycross kicked off the season in spectacular fashion and Ken Block and Lewis Hamilton started things off with some hooning around the race track.

Ken Block in his Ford Fiesta RX43 against Lewis Hamilton in the 2012 Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One car had some fun on the track before the real Global Rallycross racing got underway. This was the kick-off of the Global Rallycross season and it was a hoot with Block and Hamilton squaring off for the crowd in Barbados.

Both Block and Hamilton are legends in their respective sports and they went head to head on the track for the very first time. Watch what happened when Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 driver and Ken Block Hoonigan Racing Rallycross driver, climbed into their “company” cars, a V8 Mercedes F1 racer and a Rallycross Ford Fiesta ST, and went against each other in a race to the line.

After the “race”, Block said, “This was the absolute highlight of my weekend at the Top Gear Festival in Barbados: hooning around the race track with current F1 points leader Lewis Hamilton in his 2012 spec V8 Formula 1 race car in front of a ton of very stoked motorsport fans. So cool that Lewis is always down for a good hoon session!”

Barbados was the first event on the Global Rallycross 10 event schedule. Next up for Global Rallycross will be X Games Austin, Saturday, June 7 broadcast live on ESPN.
