Objectors to Tesla and the Cybertruck could have the opposite effect that they intend.

I found this insightful post by Marcus Reno on the Cybertruck Facebook page dedicated to Cybertruck owners. He says that Cybertruck and Tesla's objectors are actually fueling curiosity, and it's working in Tesla's and the controversial truck's favor.

I've received permission from Marcus to share his post and pictures of his truck. After you read his thoughts, let us know if you agree or disagree. Here are the most relevant excerpts from Marcus's post.

He starts with Cybertruck Hype vs. Reality: The Inevitable Truth

"With more and more Cybertrucks hitting the streets, car shows, and public spaces, owners are giving non-owners their first up-close look—and the response? A growing admiration for the truck's design, abilities, and features."

"People are getting educated firsthand, breaking free from the online propaganda, political nonsense, and emotional meltdowns over its radical design.”

The Irony?

"The massive online negativity is actually fueling more curiosity and exposure. People see the hate, they hear the drama—so they want to check it out for themselves."

Once They Do, the Truth Unfolds

"Thanks to Cybertruck owners proudly showcasing their trucks, more people realize it's nothing like what the online trolls scream about. The negativity sparks curiosity, which turns into understanding and appreciation."

Another Cybertruck owner, Erdal Calgary, purchased his Cybertruck on April 26, 2024, and his life has not been the same since. He describes it as a "transformative experience." How many car owners can say that?

Erdal says,

"Since April 2024, driving my Cybertruck has been a transformative experience, reshaping my daily commute and outlook on life."

"The sleek, futuristic design and powerful performance have elevated my driving experience to new heights—each journey feels like a glimpse into the future."

The Cybertruck Provokes Strong Opinions

Marcus continues, "One unexpected aspect of this transformation has been how other drivers react to the Cybertruck. Its unique appearance and cutting-edge technology provoke strong opinions on the road."

"On more than one occasion, I've encountered drivers flipping me off. While these gestures can be jarring, I've seen them reflect the Cybertruck's ability to stand out and challenge conventional expectations."

The Negativity Is Working In the Cybertruck's Favor

Advertising

Marcus says, "It turns out negativity and outrage marketing are working in the Cybertruck's favor—the very people trying to use negativity to shut the Cybertruck down are driving up its popularity and sales."

"Owners are reporting that if it weren't for all the talk, they wouldn't have gone out of their way to check it out. But once they did, they took test drives, dug into the real facts, and made a purchase."

Another Cybertruck Owners Says,

"The future of the Cybertruck isn't just strong—it's unstoppable. Because innovation always faces resistance. And resistance proves it's on the right path."

One More Example of Cybertruck Misinformation

Imagine driving a Tesla Cybertruck in a busy downtown area, and then a crowd gathers. You are expecting the worst to happen. Are they going to do something violent? Should you get back in your truck and leave before something terrible happens?

I also found Louis Sonny's post on the Tesla Cybertruck Owner's Facebook page.  He found himself in a situation where he didn't know what would happen next.

The Cybertruck owner was expecting something terrible to happen. However, this situation was very different from what was happening in some cities nationwide. Tesla owners are taking the brunt of anger against Elon Musk.

What Happened Next Was a Surprise

Louis says, "Early this morning, around 6 AM, I stopped by Dunkin' Donuts to grab breakfast for the office. As I stepped out of my Cybertruck, a man started taking pictures. At first, I was annoyed, but then, with all the negativity you hear, I watched him, watching my Cybertruck."

The man was not there to shout an obscenity or give the middle finger to Louis; he was there to take pictures and give him a thumbs up instead. The situation turned from irritation and concern to admiration for his truck.

Final Thoughts and Questions for Cybertruck Owners

Tesla owners are loyal and passionate about their vehicles. Cybertruck owners are a different breed and are at the forefront of the latest technology and vehicle design language. It's put them squarely in the bullseye, but they wouldn't have it any other way.

If you are a Cybertruck owner check out the TheCybertruck Facebook page and join the group.

Marcus emphasizes that Cybertruck owners are not swayed by the politics, the debates, or the drama. "They love their truck. They're keeping it. Period." This unwavering commitment and resilience in the face of negativity is a testament to the determination and empowerment of Cybertruck owners.

No it's not, the sales are in the toilet and the value of your rolling fridge is as well. The only people saying nonsense like this are owners and Elon.

Curious? Just saw on the news an owner crying about his promotional vehicle being damaged. He went on to say he bought it because he envied another local business that had a Hummer H2 years ago. Hmmm. TESLA is the new Hummer, driving one now is like wearing a fur coat.

Brilliant business model Elon. Half the country hates electric vehicles and won't buy one at any price. The rest hate Elon so much that they wouldn't touch a Tesla.if it was given to them. Brilliant!

This is some seriously awesome fiction.. but I was looking more for real input from a real human being. This defies common fanboy bravado when people realize they wasted 100 Grand on a Tesla ... It's Tesla's worst nightmare and it's been a terrible hit on the EV market in general. Not ready for prime time.. can't pull my 21-ft boat from Sacramento to Tahoe on a single charge with no charging stations in between is a problem LOL. I sure hope this is a paid advertisement because it reads as such.

Just another delusional Cybertruck owner. Most of the supposed "cutting-edge technology" turned out to be garbage. The 14v architecture blows, the front and rear steering racks are getting easily destroyed and the gigacast subframes are cracking in half from simple potholes, and the battery packs and drive units randomly fail which bricks the entire truck in the process. That's just a few examples out of an incredibly long list of flaws, plus the man responsible for creating it turned out to be a Nazi who might single-handedly burn America to the ground. No sane person wants to put up with that level of baggage. Pretty sure the fact that it could've been designed by a preschooler is completely secondary to everything else that's wrong with it in most people's minds lol.

But hey, if this dude is right and my comment drives more people to buy Cybertrucks, then I'm all for it. I find it hilarious watching these brainwashed people throw $100k down the drain then make posts like this to try to justify their idiotic purchase to the world.

In the bubble I guess. But not sure outside the bubble. There were always people interested especially when it first came out. Now unless they have never seen one before people don't seem to care. Just like when the model s first launched.

A playtoy for narcissists. The push back is only just beginning. The resale value is the real world telling you what people really think. At time of publication, Cybertrucks have been deprecating at up to $1500/week. That's a pretty expensive way to voice your views. Good luck trying to sell it if you financed it.

Comments section keeping the bogus article honest.
Article devoid of glaring facts. You got fooled into putting your hard earned money on overpriced junk. Deal with it.

It's the best selling electric truck in the United States. Initial sales may have been disappointing, but really for such a mold breaking vehicle it can't be surprising. All the hate in the comments is 100% coming from people who hate musk too. No surprise there.

For every one positive anecdote you hear, there are thousands more negative. Look at the data and report on that, not a one off story about how one of these things changed some loser's life. The stock is down 48%. What more do you need to know?

Dave bj (not verified)    March 12, 2025 - 12:08PM

That story is bs.Tesla lost over a hundred billion.Red states hate them and stock to their fords so where are they buying them? Tesla sold 50%less cars and all the other countries are down 50% as well. Why don't you stop these POS puff pieces and tell what's really going on asshole and quit kissing frump and Elons asses
