Hyundai extends its military incentive program to include veterans

The Korean automaker has long had a $500 incentive program for active-duty military personnel in the United States, but for the Memorial Day weekend through to July, they will include veterans as well.

Ever wonder why there are always a lot of Hyundais in the lots of many military bases and being driven around military towns? It's because the company gives active-duty military personnel a $500 incentive towards the purchase of any new Hyundai.

Now the company is extending that to include veterans of all five branches of the U.S. military, including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, as well as the National Guard and Rserves. This includes retirees and veterans - anyone with an honorable discharge may receive the $500 incentive on their purchase of a new Hyundai.

The Korean automaker announced that the new program began yesterday, May 25th, as a Memorial Day honor and will continue through July 31 as part of the Independence Day celebration this year. The $500 can be used towards any new 2012 or 2013 model.

"At Hyundai, we are deeply appreciative of the commitment and sacrifices made by members of our military and this is a way for us to continue to recognize some true American heroes," said Dave Zuchowski, executive vice president, sales, Hyundai Motor America.

The incentive can be had at any of the more than 800 Hyundai dealerships nationally with proof of active duty or honorable discharge.
