Frankfurt: The 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale

The 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show doesn’t officially open until tomorrow but tonight at the Volkswagen Group preview, the 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale was unveiled ahead of the opening of this year’s Frankfurt show.

The 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is based largely on the LP570-4 Blancpain Edition which means that it weighs just 2,954 pounds and packs the same 570 horsepower midship V10 that uses all four wheels to rip from 0 to 62 in just 3.4 seconds…wow is right.

This new Lamborghini Gallardo package is said to be a tribute to Italy’s racing tradition and like the Blancpain Edition, the LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is built with a heavy dose of track-purposed items including the massive, adjustable rear wing that can be angled for the ideal amount of rear end downforce depending on the driver’s preferred racing applications. The rear spoiler is largely comprised of carbon fiber as is the hood and other exterior tidbits; and for an extra fist full of dollars (or hundreds, as the case may be), the LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale can be ordered with carbon fiber goodies rather than the black and red interior trim shown in the gallery on the right.

The exterior of the 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale has an aggressive (more so than usual) lower front fascia, taking some styling cues from the incredible new Lamborghini Aventador with the protruding air intakes on the outside of the lower fascia sporting a contrasting black finish and the Super Trofeo Stradale. This logo is also found on the rear spoiler, as well as on the door sills and on the passenger’s side of the dash board. Finally, the Super Trofeo wear a set of huge gloss black alloy wheels wrapped in high performance rubber to help handle the incredible acceleration and top speed capabilities of this super high performance Italian machine.

Just 150 examples of the 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale are planned for production which means that the group getting one will be pretty exclusive – with a price tag to help ensure that the exclusive group of LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale owners are as wealthy as they are lucky. The Super Trofeo Stradale will be available in three colors, including the Rosso Mars shown in the image and gallery on the right as well as Grigio Telesto (grey – presumably something in a nice silver) or Bianco Monocerus (white).

Check out the gallery on the right for a closer look at the 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale, which will be on display over the next two weeks at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
