Ram is Heading Back to the 2025 Super Bowl With a Truck Lineup that is 'Just Right'

Actor Glen Powell is back with a new version of 'Goldilocks'.

Ram is once again teaming up with actor Glen Powell. This time, Powell will be showing the trucks off to one of the largest audiences on earth. Ram says that it and Jeep are the only automakers advertising during Super Bowl LIX. We’ll have to wait to see if that is true. Spots are selling for a rumored $8 million each. The Goldilocks ad shows Powell using the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO, the 2025 Ram 2500 Rebel and hotly anticipated 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger extended range hybrid.

“The wealth of Stellantis is the ability of our wide array of iconic brands to address any customer needs in their different life stages,” said Olivier Francois. “So much so, we are a bit like Goldilocks. Our commercial acts as a metaphor through a classic fable that is deeply rooted in American culture, with our Ram trucks partner Glen Powell serving as our Goldilocks trying out our Ram 1500, Ram 2500 heavy duty and the new Ramcharger 1500. With options that include fully electric, hybrid or gas, we’ve set the table for our customers to choose what is ‘just right’ for them.

Our participation as the only automaker in the biggest American television event makes perfect sense for us. 2025 will see our brand portfolios grow and stand out against the competition.”

Ram’s Advertising History with Glen Powell

As I have reported previously, Powell helped Ram debut the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO. He also starred in the movie TWISTERS which showcased the Ram 1500 RHO truck. Powell has earned a reputation as an action star, having been featured in “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Twisters”.

In this version of the classic “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”, Uncle Glen tells his real-life twin niece and nephew a fantasy tale that includes Ram trucks, a fire-breathing dragon, jumping across active volcanoes and fictional bears. The 60-second commercial, "Drive Your Own Story," will be shown during the Super Bowl and can also be viewed on the Ram brand's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

“I spent most of the 'Twisters' shoot in a Ram truck and it just felt right,” says Powell. “Being part of this Super Bowl spot feels like a natural continuation of my connection to a brand that has already brought me so much joy behind the wheel. And to top it all off, one of my favorite filmmakers, the legendary David Leitch, brought his signature style to create something truly fun and action-packed. As if that wasn’t enough, I had the chance to play Uncle Glen alongside my real-life niece and nephew, Gwen and Witt, a role that hit close to home in the best way. In my family, the Super Bowl is more than just football, it’s about coming together and, yes, judging the commercials. Having my family in my first Super Bowl ad felt like the perfect way to bring everything full circle.”

“Hauling a barbequed dragon and jumping volcanoes definitely falls out of the common duty cycle for a Ram pickup, but that doesn’t make it impossible,” said Tim Kuniskis, Ram Brand CEO. “The choice between the all-new 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, a combination of electric and ICE that will open up for orders soon, the Ram 2500 Rebel heavy duty and the Ram 1500 RHO may not come easy, but we always want to offer our truck-buyers options. Whether it’s gasoline powered or electric powered, or perhaps a combination of both, Ram truck buyers, like Glen, are given the power of choice, allowing them to be the hero of their own story.”

“We wanted to take a classic tale and give it a bold, unexpected twist—just like the Ram brand does with every truck it builds," said Director David Leitch. ”Glen Powell brings the perfect mix of charm, toughness and humor to our modern-day Goldilocks story, proving that the right truck isn’t too big or too small—it’s just right. This spot is all about adventure, capability and finding the perfect fit, with a little cinematic magic thrown in for good measure.”

2025 Ram 1500 RHO

The all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane engine is rated at 420 horsepower and 469 lb.-ft. of torque, while the High Output engine is rated at 540 horsepower and 521 lb.-ft. of torque. The RHO will do 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds. It will also do 0-100 mph in 11.7 seconds. It has a top speed of 118 mph. The RHO starts at $69,995, plus a $1,995 destination charge.  Capability includes a maximum towing capacity of 11,580 pounds and a maximum payload of 2,300 pounds. According to Ram, the new engines, members of the Stellantis Hurricane Twin-turbo family are the most powerful six cylinders in the segment. The inline six turbo-charged engines deliver enhanced fuel economy and fewer emissions while generating more horsepower and torque than other naturally aspirated V-8 and boosted six-cylinder engines in the light-duty segment.

2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger

Technically, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger is a hybrid. It has a gas-powered engine, but that is never to drive the vehicle. The gas engine will only recharge the electric motors.

The all-new battery-electric vehicle technology is expected to deliver the industry’s best combination of range, towing and payload. With a targeted range of up to 690 miles, the truck is capable of producing 663 horsepower and 615 lb.-ft. of torque. The truck will do 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The towing will be a huge draw, it is capable of towing up to 14,000 lbs. with a payload of up to 2,625 pounds.

Ram recently decided to move up the launch of the Ramcharger. It should be available later this year. Ram will start taking orders in the second quarter.

Ram is also offering branded merchandise tied to the Big Game commercial to consumers, including plush/stuffed dragons and bears, T-shirts, hoodies, blankets and even a dragon-wing hot sauce at RamTrucks.com.
