Ram Rolls Out 2024 Ram 1500 RHO With Focus on Affordable Performance

"More horsepower per dollar," That's how the head of Ram describes the new RHO with 540 horsepower. The MSRP is lower than many expected for the new off-roader.

Ram debuted its new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO truck with an emphasis on value. The new pickup truck posts lots of impressive numbers, but the most striking number of them all is the sticker. The new 2025 Ram RHO offers the all-new, more powerful and more efficient 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output (H/O) Straight-Six Turbo (SST) engine. The truck is rated at 540 horsepower and 521 lb.-ft. of torque. It will do 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds. It will also do 0-100 mph in 11.7 seconds. It has a top speed of 118 mph. The RHO starts at $69,995, plus a $1,995 destination charge. Orders for the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO are open now.

“The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is the latest result of a relentless pursuit to engineer, design and deliver a truck that charges into the segment head down and horn up,” said Tim Kuniskis, Ram brand CEO – Stellantis. “All that we’ve learned from developing every truck in Ram’s legendary lineup has led us to the most capable light-duty pick-up truck, offering the best value with more horsepower per dollar than any other off-road truck.”

Ram has been teasing the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO for the last few days. The truck does not replace the powerful Ram TRX with 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, but it also doesn’t carry the TRX’s hefty price tag. According to Ram’s Tim Kuniskis the Ram 1500 RHO offers the best value with more horsepower per dollar ($129.60 per HP) than any other off-road truck. Ram joined forces with actor Glen Powell for the launch, even creating a short film for the military-style reveal. You may remember Powell from Top Gun Maverick. He is also starring in two new adventure movies. Twister is due out shortly and he is also featured in a remake of the Running Man.

New Ram Truck Lineup

The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO expands the Ram Sport lineup that already consists of Ram 1500 Warlock, Rebel, Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel and Power Wagon. The new RHO will do the quarter mile in 13.1 seconds at 105 mph.

Ram says the new truck is inspired by desert off-road racers. The RHO has high-strength forged aluminum front upper and lower control arms with special attention to caster and camber angles during suspension cycling.

The RHO will have best-in-class interior with over 50 inches of combined available digital display screens. The driver controls the huge 14.5-inch touchscreen display. The passenger will have a class-exclusive 10.25-inch screen.

The new truck has a maximum towing capacity of 8,380 pounds, a maximum payload of 1,520 pounds and up to 32 inches of water fording.

The RHO has a new exhaust system that is different than the rest of the Ram 1500 lineup. This exhaust incorporates a Sport Tune low-restriction system with true dual pipes running from the front to the back of the truck.

2025 Ram RHO Designed for Off-Roading

One of the first things you will notice is the new 18-inch bead lock wheels that are available straight from the factory. The RHO also has new LED headlights. Both the new wheels and LED headlights are designed to improve performance out on the trails. The wheels will provide more stability. The headlights will increase vision and visibility in the often remote areas.

The truck has Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks that have been tuned to balance on-road handling and class-leading off-road capability. Ride comfort, body roll control and handling are significantly improved with the proprietary Ram Active Terrain Dynamics suspension management system, new shock tuning, hard points and body mount strategy. All drive modes can reach peak compression damping for the most extreme events.

A Dana 60 rear axle with full floating axle is standard equipment and handles the rear electronic locking differential and 35-inch tires. The Dana 60 rear axle uses a damper that enables improved traction and axle control on rough surfaces. A rear axle center section provides balanced performance and a locking differential for increased off-road performance.

The Ram 1500 RHO has a ground clearance of 11.8 inches due in part to a 2-inch ride height increase when compared with the rest of the 1500 lineup, along with 35-inch tires. This combination enables RHO to clear surface obstacles easily and at high speeds.

When the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO Will be Available

The new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is being built in Sterling Heights, Michigan. It is scheduled to start arriving in dealerships in the third quarter of 2024 and starts at $69,995, plus a destination charge of $1,995. Orders for the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO are open now.
