Meet the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport

Hyundai is planning to unveil a hotted-up version of the Elantra later this year at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. But you don't need to wait as Hyundai has already revealed it in South Korea.

What you see here is the Hyundai Avante Sport - the Korean Domestic Market (KDM) version of the Elantra. The exterior matches up to pictures we posted from a Korean forum earlier this week. The front end features a new front bumper with large air intakes, HID headlights, and LED daytime running lights. Other exterior changes include new side skirts, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear diffuser, and chrome exhaust tips. The interior comes with sportier seats, flat-bottomed steering wheel, and red accents.

Power will come a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder with 204 PS (about 201 horsepower) and 27 kg-m of torque (about 195 pound-feet). If these numbers sound familar, this is the same engine you'll find the in current Hyundai Veloster Turbo. Hyundai will offer a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for the South Korean market. We wouldn't be surprised if we get the same choice.

You can check out Hyundai's PR site in South Korea if you want to see a couple more pictures of the Sport.
