New Tesla Model 3 Performance Is Coming: How Will It Be Different Than The Old One?

There is a new Model 3 Performance coming this year. How will it be different from the old one?

Tesla Model 3 Performance - Not Available - Yet!

The latest Tesla Model 3 performance, which is no longer listed for sales on Tesla's website, used to cost around $50,990 base price. It is an extremely fast car, 3rd in performance behind the Model X and Model S Plaid vehicles. But, it isn't available for purchase, and there is a reason for this.

The latest Tesla Model 3 performance has 315 miles of range, 450 horsepower and a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.1 seconds. This makes it a very affordable sports car.

However, it got taken down from Tesla's website because with it getting the full tax credit, it would have been less expensive than a Model 3 long range, which no longer qualifies for the $7,500 tax credit rebate.

This rebate is point of sale and in order to combat this issue, Tesla released the Highland Model 3 in the U.S., which has numerous upgrades that make it worth it even without the tax credit.

When Is It Coming Back, and What Will It Have?

This vehicle is coming back, and I think it will come back once Tesla has addressed the tax credit with the Model 3 RWD and Model 3 long range. That way, there is no conflict among the vehicles in price and affordability.

Tesla will also release the Highland version of this vehicle if they can get it ready and raise the price by a few thousand dollars. If Tesla does this, then there is no conflict and everything is good to go.

The 2024 Model 3 Performance will have the following specs - and this is just a prediction:

  • Cost: $52,990
  • Horsepower: 470
  • 0 to 60 mph: 3 seconds
  • Range: 320 miles
  • No driving stalks
  • Rear screen
  • All other features of the Model 3 Highland

By raising the price of the Model 3 Performance a bit, Tesla can release it sooner. Tesla should do this if they can't get the other Model 3 variants back into the full tax credit.

If Tesla can get the other Model 3 variants with the tax credit soon, then Tesla can bring the Model 3 Performance back as it was without raising the price.
