Aptera Wows With Pre-Production Delta Design Reveal

We have a video from Aptera Motors, showing the parts and design of its Delta vehicle, the vehicle that will be worked on right before production begins.

Aptera Delta

Delta is Aptera's production-intent vehicle design. Aptera is showcasing the union of the continuous improvements made throughout the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma development phases. Aptera says this is important because Delta will pave the way for the Launch Edition Aptera: the first and most exclusive vehicles Aptera will start production on.

In 2023 the Aptera team will begin systems integration and build Delta vehicles of various forms. These vehicles will be used for validation and crash testing. Once the crash testing and validation stages are complete, Aptera will begin production of its Launch Edition vehicles. These will be the vehicles sold to customers.

Aptera has already shared its year end review for 2022. On January 20, 2023, Aptera will further showcase its production-intent design and announce its Launch Edition’s unique specifications and revolutionary capabilities in a livestream webinar.

Aptera asks that you join them for the global reveal where they'll outline the core technologies that will make your solar electric dreams come true and the strategies they are employing to make solar mobility a reality for all.

This design reveal is a big step for this company and their ambitious 1,000 mile range EV project with 3 wheels. Nobody is doing this, and so it's up to them to make it work.

One of the things I noticed about this design is that there are a lot of parts to make it work. At first, many different frame pieces come together. They don't appear to be using giga castings. Then you have the sections for the tires, and more pieces for the sides, top and bottom.

After that, even more pieces for the sides, top, and bottom, and finally the doors for the vehicle. Then, it looks like the vehicle is painted with the solar panels set on it and the tires on.

There is a GIANT back area for storage, which is really nice. You can camp back there, fit pets back there, or lots of luggage. That's really impressive. Aptera has a number of add-ons you can put on the vehicle when you customize it on their website.

Aptera has about 38,000 reservations for its efficient EV, and if they can find a way to get to massive volume production, and bring down the cost of their vehicles, I think we'll start to see a lot of these on the roads.

What do you think of Aptera's Delta design? Is Aptera going to succeed?
