Sam Mikhail, a Cybertruck owner from Florida, says he feels a strong vibration in the door when driving at highway speeds.
He adds that the vibration is so severe that it feels like an earthquake is happening beneath him.
The frustrated Cybertruck owner shared his story on the Tesla Cybertruck Owners group on Facebook.
He writes…
“I’ve noticed a vibration on the driver’s side door when driving over 70 mph. It feels like an earthquake. Has anyone else experienced this, or is there a recommended fix?
Thank you!”
This is definitely not ideal; however, looking at the comments, several Cybertruck owners report experiencing the same issue.
A fellow Cybertruck owner, Spears Luis from Texas, writes…
“I had the same issue; I submitted a service request, and Tesla fixed it.”
Shane Fortune, another Cybertruck owner who has experienced the same vibration complaint, writes…
“The door needs replacing because the outer and inner doors have separated due to failed adhesive. I had both front doors replaced.”
A third Cybertruck owner, Michael Johnson, writes…
“Yes, my Cybertruck doors have been shaking since delivery. I was told they are within specifications.”
A fourth Cybertruck owner, Juston Brazda, writes…
“There is a service bulletin specifically for this. They have a procedure to fix it.”
A lot of Cybertruck owners seem to face this same problem; however, some have taken matters into their own hands.
A fellow Cybertruck owner, Benny Bolick, writes…
“I felt taped all four door strikers. Helped tremendously.”
Another Cybertruck owner, Christy E Weinstein, gives a suggestion writing…
“Pull out those plastic inserts and check for loose screws or plastic. The seat also has a cover over the seat adjustment knobs that came loose on mine. I caught my pant leg on it, and it just pops out of the rivets.”
These are all possible explanations and fixes; however, in Sam’s case, the problem seems to be connected to the adhesive Tesla uses to attach the reinforcement brackets inside the Cybertruck doors.
Tesla has already issued a service bulletin for the vibrating doors issue, and in the document, the EV maker states…
“Condition
On some Cybertruck vehicles, reinforcement brackets inside the front and rear door assemblies might cause low-frequency shaking, rattling, and/or vibrations at the door assemblies and/or left-hand side mirror when the vehicle is driven at high speeds, which does not meet Tesla quality standards.
Correction
Upon customer complaint, inspect the vehicle for symptoms related to the condition. If symptoms are present, apply new adhesive to the reinforcement brackets and install additional butyl pads on the affected door assemblies.”
Tesla also provides a detailed explanation of how to inspect and identify the problem.
Tesla writes…
“Inspect
1. Test drive the vehicle on the highway, at speeds greater than 60 mph (96 km/h), listening for a low-pitched booming or vibration coming from the doors, and also checking the left-hand side mirror glass for visible shaking/rattling.
NOTE: Try to note where the noises are coming from (e.g., the left-hand front door, the front of the vehicle, the rear of the vehicle, everywhere, etc.)
• If low-pitched booming/vibration from the doors is not observed, and the left-hand side mirror does not shake/rattle while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle is not affected by this bulletin.
Discontinue this bulletin and continue diagnosis. Use the correction code S012510002.
• If a low-pitched booming/vibration from the doors or shaking/rattling at the left-hand side mirror is observed while driving at highway speeds, record your findings and continue to the next step.
Tesla then provides a detailed explanation on how to fix the issue. The EV manufacturer essentially says to remove the adhesive from the door reinforcement brackets and apply new adhesive to resolve the problem.

It’s not a story. It’s anti-Tesla sensationalism. There are multiple online auto “magazines” that scour the internet for anything Tesla negative so they can put out a misleading headline followed by a piss-dribble “article” that’s really just a recap of a conversation between a couple guys on some forum.

My Cybertruck doors have been shaking since delivery. All panels around the car rattle. I was told they are within specifications rwice and safe. Took it to service twice and the explanation was this is a big truck and should be driven at high speed. This is the service center in Princeton NJ.
Guys, get your wheels…
