Andy Rozmiarek, a Cybertruck buyer from Lincoln, Nebraska, says he had to fly to Denver, Colorado, to take delivery of his truck.

Andy explains that the main reason he couldn’t take delivery in Nebraska is because the elected officials running his state don't allow Tesla to sell directly to customers.

As a result, Andy and his dad had to fly out to Denver early in the morning to pick up the Cybertruck.

After picking up his Cybertruck, Andy had to immediately get on the interstate and drive 500 miles back to Lincoln, Nebraska.

Overall, including the time spent flying to Denver and driving back to Nebraska, the Cybertruck delivery process took a total of 12 hours.

This isn’t ideal; however, Andy notes that the Cybertruck made the long delivery experience still enjoyable.

Thanks to the Cybertruck’s full self-driving feature, Andy says he felt like he was driven 500 miles by the Cybertruck rather than the other way around.

Andy adds that after putting significant miles on his Cybertruck on the first day, he considers the Cybertruck the best road-tripping vehicle in the world.

The happy Cybertruck owner shared his story on the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook.

He writes…

“I picked up my Cybertruck AWD today. It was a fun day.

Regrettably, I live in Nebraska, and our elected state officials don’t allow Tesla to sell directly to customers here, so I had to buy one in Denver, Colorado.

It actually turned out to be pretty cool. My dad went with me just for fun, and we flew into Denver this morning, then drove the truck back to Lincoln.

Well, it drove us. There and back home in 12 hours flat.

It was a lot of fun to take delivery and then immediately hit the interstate, letting it run for 500 miles on the first day.

This might be the best road trip vehicle out there. At least for me and the way I travel.”

Below his post, Andy shared a picture of his Cybertruck, ready for delivery, parked next to a Tesla Model Y at the Tesla delivery center in Denver, Colorado.

Looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners raised several questions about Andy’s unusual delivery process.

The first question is how long he needed to charge to drive all the way from Denver, Colorado, to Lincoln, Nebraska.

A fellow group member, Rush Voorhis, asks

“How long did the next charge take? 8 full hours.”

In response, Andy writes…

“The longest charging stop was 20 minutes. The truck only needed 12 minutes, but we had to eat lunch.”

Another point fellow Cybertruck owners wanted clarified is why Andy had to go all the way to Denver, Colorado, to pick up his Cybertruck when there was a closer Tesla delivery center in Iowa.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Allen Madison, writes…

“It seems like Council Bluffs, Iowa, would have been closer. It’s right outside Omaha.

A second Cybertruck owner, Ryan Dietrich, seconds this sentiment, writing…

“I was going to say the same thing. I live in Nebraska, and picked mine up in Council Bluffs, Iowa as well.

They just opened a new service center last year. Quite nice.”

However, Andy says he had to pick up his Cybertruck from a larger Tesla delivery center, and Tesla did not give him the option to take delivery in Iowa.

Andy writes…

“It had something to do with the 0% financing I got for my Cybertruck that it had to come from a 'big' store? I don’t know.

My only options were Denver, Minneapolis, and St. Louis. I didn’t care; it was a good excuse to spend the whole time playing with the truck.”

This may be connected to Tesla tying the 0% financing offer to clear unsold inventory at various delivery centers.

Another point fellow Cybertruck owners raised was the fact that the truck is not available to buy worldwide.

A fellow Cybertruck owner, Finn Christiansen, writes…

“I’d buy a Cybertruck instantly if the state of Denmark weren’t a socialist truck-hating country.”

Overall, looking at the comments, most Cybertruck owners shared their belief that it's worth driving 500 miles to buy a Cybertruck.

Aren't Teslas supposed to be able to drive themselves from the factory to the purchaser? What became of all that hype, right?

I've made the trip several times from Denver to Omaha/Lincoln. The trip to Lincoln should only take 7 hours, including a 30 minute lunch. Twelve hours is ridiculous, how fast were you going, like 50 mph?

I live in Oklahoma and had to buy it in Missouri but they did deliver to a Tesla center in Oklahoma. I love my CT it is the most amazing vehicle!

Ya know, and the truth here is that most people wouldn't walk across the street to take delivery of a cybertoy. Why do you suppose that is?

Fyi: Council Bluffs, IA has a Tesla dealership. Just over an hour away from Lincoln. Dude most likely wanted to go to CO for other reasons.

There's a huge difference between "had to" and "wanted to".
Nobody forced him to purchase a Tesla or go to another state to get it.

Wait a few days until that shinny exterior begins looking dull due to using an inferior grade of stainless steel during production. And you live in snow and salt country!

Andy sounds like a real Musketeer, claims Cyberturd is best road trip vehicle after owning it for 1/2 day. Another member of the more money than brains club.

No truck enthusiast would walk across the street to take delivery of a cybertoy. But that's just how truck folk are. They have work to do, so they cannot be loading their trucks onto flatbeds every few weeks when they brick out.

Sounds like he's bitching for no reason. If he'd bought a regular vehicle he would have been done and we wouldnt have to read this garbage. He was obviously already aware there was going to be a trip to get one. And the drive home broke in the vehicle. Just a whiny drama queen from the sound of it
