A Tesla Cybertruck Buyer From Tennessee Says He’s Trading In His Toyota Tundra for a Cybertruck Because of “All The Great Work Elon Musk is Doing for Our Country”

A Tesla owner recently visited a Tesla store in Tennessee and met two older gentlemen who were there to buy a Cybertruck. One of the older gentlemen said he’s trading in his Toyota Tundra for a Cybertruck specifically because he’s happy with Elon Musk.

Fred Land is the CEO of Spray-Lock, a premium adhesive products manufacturer out of Tennessee, and he shares an incredible conversation he had with two older gentlemen at a Tesla store.

Fred says he was at the Tesla store in Chatanooga when he met two older gentlemen who were there to buy a Cybertruck.

What’s interesting is that, rather than some of the negativity that followed Musk’s recent foray into politics, these older gentlemen say they are there to buy a Cybertruck specifically because of the recent work Elon Musk is doing in the government.

Fred shared the story of his run-in with the two older Cybertruck buyers on X.

He writes…

“I went by the Tesla service center here in Chattanooga today.

As I was getting ready to leave, an older man, like me, was sitting on a stool waiting to speak to a Tesla representative.

He was gazing at a Cybertruck in the showroom. So, trying to be funny, I asked if that truck was his. He said, “Probably”. He is going to trade his Toyota Tundra for a Cybertruck.

As we continued to talk, an underlying factor for him getting one was the GREAT service Musk is performing for our country in searching for and exposing government waste, fraud, and money laundering.”

Given the recent anti-Tesla protests and boycotts, which were spurred largely in opposition to Elon Musk, it’s interesting to see that his recent government actions have also garnered him support to the point of attracting new Cybertruck buyers.

However, if you think one recently converted pro Elon Musk, Cybertruck buyer is surprising, Fred says when he was chatting up with the Cybertruck buyer, he also met another gentleman there looking to buy a Cybertruck.

Fred adds that this second older gentleman was also there to buy a Tesla, specifically because of Elon Musk's work in the government.

Fred continues to write about how he was interrupted by a second gentleman as he was discussing Elon Musk and the great job he’s doing with the first Cybertruck buyer.

Fred says…

“Another older guy came in and asked if we worked for Tesla. I said no, but I would be happy to sell you something. He, too, said that he wanted a Tesla because of the great work Musk is doing.”

Finally, Fred concluded his post simply by writing, “Wow. We love Elon Musk” and tagging the Tesla CEO on X.

This is an incredible account. However, looking at the comments, a lot of people said the story was completely made up.

An X user, Dave White, writes…

“Lmao, this did not happen.”

Another X user goes even further, accusing Fred of being lazy with his made-up story.

He writes…

“If you're going to lie, at least make it believable.”

A third X user who goes by the username “Fed Up” writes…

“IF that story were true (it's not), then that old man either doesn't really need a truck or is in early-stage dementia.”

That’s certainly a strong ascertain, and in response, Fred says…

“Since you weren’t there and witnessed nothing, then you are incapable of saying this is not true.

It is okay to have preferences and motives different from yours. We buy what we want for diverse reasons. So maybe you are not so bright.”

And I'm sure he has no friends that work for federal agencies. Musk wasn't born here and has no business scrutinizing the work those individuals do for the country. He knows little of our constitution, laws and how they affect people. Also he doesn't give a shit about you or I .

Thank you for bringing this important story about a story about a story about something someone random may have said to someone else to our attention! Also thanks for supplying comments that said "no it didn't," to which Fred said "yes it did and you're not very smart". Also please never write anything again.

Did everyone stop and clap too? Sounds so fake and their sales number tell a different story. Going to need more than a couple good ol' boys to save that truck and this fake story.

Torque News has gone the way of the Tabloid Dodo, which is only a few steps above TMZ. Your repeated stories negatively towards Tesla and the Cybertruck are turning into ridiculous RAGEBAIT AND FAKE CLICKBAIT!!

The obvious BIAS AGAINST Tesla is ridiculous and TN staff should be EMBARRASSED!!

Tesla creates it's own negativity, and fans like the CEO of some literal "What?" Company and yourself are not making it better by coping hard.

The Cybertruck needs to go the way of the DeLorian.

I have no reason to believe that it's not true. But sales in the US are tanking. The same is true in Europe. Most people buy a vehicle because they like the vehicle. That's why most people bought Teslas before Musk got political. People might stay away from a brand because the CEO openly antagonizes them, but I don't expect many people to buy a vehicle that they don't want just because of Musk.

Tesla reportedly had a million reservations, sold under 39,000 Cybertrucks last year, and demand has dried up. Not all of it is necessarily because of Musk. Some people were expecting the lower trim level at the price given when they reserved one. There are other factors too, but given that sales have dropped for other models, and people are openly saying that they won't buy one because of Musk, I don't think one extra sale in Tennessee will change much.

Just wondering, does this unnamed "older gentleman" also go out of his way to stay at Trump Hotels, because of all the great work he is doing destroying our country?

Ah he will see how quickly his money is lost when he drives off the lot. Worse depreciation of any vehicle. Similar to what happened when musk took over Twitter, and now the US.
