Toyota White Blizzard Pearl Support Program Phase 1 Notification
Toyota began notifying owners last year in the fall. The owners of Toyotas with white or blizzard pearl paint received a letter notifying them of the upcoming support.

Phase 2 - Repair
Toyota's second phase will consist of a repair made by your local dealer at no cost to you. Any authorized Toyota Dealership can determine if a condition is covered by this Customer Support Program, not just the one from which the vehicle was purchased.

Contact your dealer if you have an affected vehicle. They will tell you the schedule and plan for repairs to your vehicle. 2015 Toyota RAV4 with Blizzard Pearl. First noticed peeling on roof in January 2021. Followed instructions from dealer exactly (take to dealer's body shop for assessment, wait for call for appointment). Have been waiting since January for call back to take it in. I have called the dealer five times. All five times they have said they have my information and they would call back. Still no calls back. Called Toyota Brand Engagement today and they said the dealer would call me within 24 hours. Still waiting.

No. I still have not heard from the dealer even though Toyota said I would hear within 24 hours. We have three Toyota’s with this paint on them. Since Toyota is non responsive we are strategizing how we can dump them so we dont get caught with embarrassing paint that we have to drive around with. It truly is much more embarrassing than I thought it would be. I hate having to to tell people That I’m not a negligent car owner, I’m waiting for Toyota to approve the fix. It has literally been six months trying to get this handled.

My local dealership was very responsive. They looked at the damage and got back with me quickly to schedule a date to drop off. They’re even providing me with a rental while my Rav is being repaired. You should call Toyota directly and explain this situation. That isn’t good business. I’d even go as far as posting it on social media, tagging Toyota in the post.

All Toyota vehicles are covered with the blizzard pearl paint. This was a defect in the paint. Call your local Toyota dealership and explain the situation. They should schedule an appointment for you to bring your vehicle in. If not, call Toyota MM main number and explain what is happening.

My daughter’s 2014 Camry looks awful. The paint has gone completely flat and has grayed. It looks paper thin, but since it has not “peeled” the dealership says they won’t fix it. How do you get a recall for that started. Hers can’t be the only one. You’d think defective paint is defective paint.

I have 2012 Sequoia Platinum and just today noticed dollar size peeling paint on second row passenger top part of window. I’ll be so upset if they don’t fix this. My car is 8 1/2 years old andwith what I paid, I was planning to keep for 10-12 years. I also had extended warranty that just ended in September. Fingers crossed. I’m in Louisiana.

I have a grey 2012 Toyota Venza. First off I love this car. The hood started getting a spot up by the passenger side near the window I took it in to get detailed last fall and they tried to fix it but it didn’t work. Now the whole hood the plastic Coating is degrading. I don’t know what to do. Is there a recall on this?

My heart hurt when my 2010 4runner started losing paint. Called the dealer where I bought it and they sent me to another dealer that had a body shop. Took the car in and they tested it. At that time, only the hood was failing. It took 5 months to get in in for the hood to be painted and by that time, the front fenders had started to fail also. They got approval to paint the fenders and I am supposed to pick it up on Friday. Slow but Toyota came thru for me.

My husband is taking our '15 Rav tomorrow to be looked at by a local Toyota dealership. They said they'll determine what needs repainted. The roof will definitely need it. I wonder how they tell what other parts are going to need repainted. I hate to have to continue making multiple trips to keep repairing peeling paint.

We have a 2010 Prius with paint peeling just as described in the article.

I called a Toyota support number about a year or so and they denied this was something that Toyota would do anything about, as the car was out of warranty.

I'd like to try again as it seems the problem has gotten bigger. What is the best avenue to contact Toyota support and get rid info in their database?

June 3, 2021. I have a 2018 Tundra I bought new in March of 2018, painted black. The paint on both sides of the truck is starting to bubble off on the lower 12" of the door panels that continues to the edge where the fenders connect. Several bubbles are an inch or two in diameter and I'm sure rust will begin occuring once the bubbles crack or flake off in normal washing. I have kept the car washed and waxed, and live in Aptos, California, and has not been parked near the ocean or anything. I am contacting the Toyota dealer where I purchased the truck in Seaside, and will see if they can be of help under their Corrosion Perforation warranty....

May 25,2021 file complaint on our 2013 Highlander color code 070. Was told my vehicle was covered. Now 06/11/2021 was told it's not. Unprofessional of Toyota to act like this issue is model specific, though it seems all of us have the same details on it's failure. Rep said I was more than welcomed to get the vehicle repaired at my expense and if in the future it was included in a "SUPPORT" program Toyota would CONSIDER a reimbursement.

I own a 2014 Avalon Hybrid white pearl. Last year I received a letter recalling some white pearl vehicles because the paint was coming off from manufacturing defects. My car’s paint has been coming off for a couple of years and you can tell it is from manufacturing process. I brought my car to a Toyota dealer late 2019-2020 and was told to wait longer until the recall was more specific. Last week on June 12, 2021, I went to a Toyota dealer to get new tires and asked about the paint recall. They told me there was not a recall for this issue but only for the ECS Air bag module. They said were not aware or did not know about this problem??? But If I’ll bring the letter, they may be able to help me. The paint on my car is coming off faster, specially on the edges of the car, hood, roof, and on the sides. If I can not find the letter, what should I do? Does any body that received the same letter can share it with me? Like I said, I was proactive bringing the car for the recall and I was told to wait by the Toyota dealer, and now that is coming off faster and on several parts of the car, dealers say they do not anything about this problem. Can someone help?. Thank you.

I own a 2014 Avalon Hybrid white Pearl. The paint started coming off a couple of years ago around 2018. I received a letter mentioning this problem and was going to be followed by another letter. But If I have this problem, to take my car to a dealer for repairs free of charge. I did and I was told by the dealer to wait for the second letter. Now, the paint is still coming off specially on the edges of the car around the hood, sides and roof. I went back on June 12, 2021 and the dealer told me they were not aware of this problem?? Are they trying to deny this problem? I mentioned I had received the letter stating to bring my car to a dealer. That is when they told me to bring the letter to them for repairs if this was the case. Are they playing dumb? Have the repairs started?

This question has been asked numerous times in this thread. If you google it, you'll find multiple hits regarding " Toyota blizzard pearl paint". My '15 Rav is currently in the shop being repainted. If your local dealership is stating they don't know anything about this issue, tell them you spoke to a representative from the Toyota factory who told you to contact the local dealership regarding this issue. If that doesn't resolve the issue, call Toyota Motor Manufacturing and report the dealership. If that doesn't resolve the issue, blast them on social media. That usually gets quick results.

My 2020 Prius has the pearl white paint. I have had right at s year with 8900 miles on it. It is always garaged when not in use. I noticed very small chips in paint that go down to the metal. No denting. The dealership is trying to tell me this is toad damage which is virtually impossible because of where they are located. They said I need to take to their body shop for repairs…at my expense. What should I do?

I have a Toyota Rag 4 2013. The paint is peeling around the headlights. I received an initial letter, but not a follow up letter. The peeling is bad. Is there a scheduled place to be fixed.

I have a 2010 Prius. I have contacted Toyota usa. They said at this time there is no remedy for my prius. I visited the local Scott Crump Toyota. The service manager looked up recalls and said there was nothing for it and stated that it was old. The paint on my Prius is turning loose and the front and back windshields and has started a rapid peel away on the driver side fender. So far...nothing for me.

My Camry is an older model from 2012 but the paint job began to fail early on. Before I had it paid off. The protective gloss coat had all but disappeared within 5 years. I still have several years left in her mechanically and will need to address it I'm afraid. Disappointed for sure.

I called the 800 number above and they gave me a case number and advised I needed to go to a Toyota dealership for them to inspect the paint and then to call back. 2013 Highlander with paint coming off on the front area of the windshield and roof. I've never received a letter.
