Despite fake news to the contrary, average vehicle prices have not budged in about four years. This week, Kia announced that it is dramatically lowering the prices of its far-from-average EV6 battery-electric vehicle (BEV). The Kia EV6 is an award-winning EV, which grabbed a segment win in Car Talk’s Best EVs for 2026 just two months ago.

Let’s jump right in with the price chart. These prices include the Kia Destination fee for both model years.

As you can see, Kia has knocked roughly $5K off the price of each Kia EV6 trim for 2026. That’s about 10% off the price of the top trims and even higher by percentage for the more affordable trims. The new top trim for 2026 is the GT-Line AWD, and it drops by a whopping $5,830. In case you missed it above, these prices include the destination charge, so the only additional charge before you negotiate your best deal is any dealer's Doc Fee.

The EV6 is not the only Kia with a price drop for 2026. The 2026 Seltos compact SUV saw a $1,500 drop from the base trim's MSRP this year.

For 2026, Kia makes going electric even easier. But offering terrific value is more than just a new price. This year, the EV6 adds seamless plug-and-charge convenience to enhance advanced tech we know EV drivers expect.

One trend we’ve noticed with Kia is that the vehicles get meaningfully better with each passing model year. That is certainly true for 2026. All trims in all locations now come with a dual voltage charging cable. That’s a $250 value, based on our charging cable testing experience. In addition, buyers in ZEV states (California and the eleven states that follow its emissions standards) will also receive a DC fast-charger adapter.

One feature we really look forward to in all EVs will now be standard on the 2026 Kia EV6. It's called Kia Plug & Charge. This technology enables drivers to connect to a compatible charger linked to Kia Charge Pass, and authentication and billing are handled automatigically, making charging seamless and stress-free. Why don’t all EVs do that with all public chargers?

Kia has made a couple of nips and tucks to the trims to simplify the lineup this year, and of course, there are some great new colors coming.

The Kia EV6 makes a compelling case that the EV market is tilting in the buyer's favor in 2026. With every trim seeing meaningful price reductions, a sub-$40K entry point, standard Plug & Charge convenience, and a dual voltage charging cable now included in the box, Kia is delivering more vehicle for thousands less than last year. For shoppers who've been waiting for the right moment to make the switch to electric, or who wish to upgrade from an older EV, the refreshed EV6 lineup deserves a serious look. Reach out to your local Kia dealer and ask if one is available for a test drive. And, as always with EVs, be sure you lease the vehicle, don't buy it outright.
