New Captain American Movie to Feature the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

General Motors has just announced that the new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will be featured in the upcoming action adventure movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier with as the slick ride of Scarlett Johansson – serving as the first major movie role for the 2014 (or ’15) Corvette Stingray.

At today’s start of the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, one of the 15 “new” vehicles being shown off in the Windy City is the striking black on black 2014/2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray shown above with the gorgeous Miss Scarlett Johansson at the wheel. Johansson will be playing SHIELD agent Natasha Romanov – better known as the Black Widow – in the upcoming Marvel Entertainment film Captain America: The Winter Soldier and as the Black Widow she will drive a fittingly blacked out C7 Corvette.

No information has been offered on the C7 Corvette Stingray that will star in Captain America: The Winter Soldier outside of the fact that it has the Z51 package (based on the rear quarter panel vents) black exterior paint, black wheels with the Corvette crossed flags emblem and black leather interior so we don’t know if this Corvette will be modified for movie use to be faster than the standard 2014-2015 Corvette Stingray. Fortunately, it really doesn’t matter if the Black Widow’s new Corvette is modified as in the fast paced world of key production placement – having a very sexy female superhero driving the new Corvette is likely to catch the attention of more than a few prospective buyers.

While the odds are good that there won’t be many people who will go see the new Marvel Captain America movie and then run right out to buy a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (or order one…since there is a waiting list for the new Corvette right now) just because they saw one in the movie, the product placement could help plant the seed in the heads of some buyers looking to spend that kind of money on a new sports car.

Many movie goers who had not previously seen much of the new Corvette Stingray may find themselves falling in love with the looks of the new Chevy sports car and while the C7 has seemingly been plastered everywhere – there are people who haven’t spent much time watching the new Corvette in action. For male buyers, seeing the Corvette in high speed action with a gorgeous younger woman behind the wheel is likely to lead them to envision themselves tearing around in a new Corvette with some pretty young girl giggling in the passenger seat. For female buyers, seeing the strong, sexy Black Widow rocking the new Corvette is likely to inspire some “girl power” ideas that could lead to more female buyers as they think “she looks great driving it…and so will I”. You know…because a new Corvette will turn a mid 50s housewife into Scarlett Johansson. Even though the visions delivered to some male and female sports car shoppers who fall in love with the new Corvette while watching the new Captain America movie are little more than hopeless dreams – driving sales to those exact people is one of the main goals of product placement.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters around the country on April 4th and when it does, you can check out Scarlett Johansson and the Black Widow’s new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in all of its glory. As an extra little bit of information, Johansson is lined up to play the Black Widow in the next Captain America movie titled Age of Ultron so it will be interesting to see if the new Stingray scores a two-movie deal as part of this new announcement.
