Camaro Corral Returns for the 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise

For the 3rd year in a row, Chevrolet Camaro fans will have a unique location along the Woodward Dream Cruise route to both show off their own GM muscle cars and to check out a huge collection of privately owned Camaros from the past 50 years.

While the Ford Mustang and its fans have long had their own special show area at the Woodward Dream Cruise in the form of Mustang Alley, Chevrolet Camaro owners and fans haven’t had their own area until the 2014 event, but for the 3rd year in a row, the Camaro Corral will be packed with the historic GM muscle cars, their owners and thousands of enthusiasts who stop by to check out 50 years of Camaros in one area.

Camaro Corral at the 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise
The Camaro Corral was introduced at the 2014 Woodward Dream Cruise so when this year’s rolling show floods the streets of metro Detroit, it will mark the 3rd year of the Camaro-only show field. I had a chance to speak with Brian Meissen of MIFBody.com, and while he isn’t the sole person responsible for the Camaro Corral, Brian and members of his massive Michigan Camaro and Firebird club have a big hand in making this happen each year.

As was the case in both 2014 and 2015, the Camaro Corral for the 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise is located in Pleasant Ridge, Michigan, on the southbound (west) side of Woodward Avenue, just south of I-696. This Camaro-specific space is limited to 150 parking spaces and as this piece goes live in Friday, July 1st, there are less than 50 spots left. If you want to display your Camaro in the Corral, you can click here to register your car for the event and if you are definitely coming to the Dream Cruise with your Camaro – I wouldn’t wait too long to sign up.

The 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise
The 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise should really be an event that Camaro fans should plan on attending, as the 50th anniversary celebration for the Chevrolet Camaro is centered around the massive Detroit event. As we reported earlier this week, the Camaro-related festivities kick off on Thursday, August 18th with a car show and plant tour at the Lansing Grand River facility where all of the 6th gen Camaros are built, followed by a Camaro-only Cars and Coffee on Friday the 19th. Finally, the 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise comes on Saturday, August 20th and in the large Chevrolet display along Old Woodward Ave, we can expect an incredible collection of Camaros from the past 50 years.

Basically, the 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise should be the best yet for Camaro fans.

If you love the Chevrolet Camaro, you need to come to the 2016 Woodward Dream Cruise and do so a few days early to get the most out of your trip. If you own a Camaro and you want to show it off at the Dream Cruise, make sure to get yourself a spot in the Camaro Corral before the registration has closed!
