2019 Ram 1500 Pricing Announced with Modest Increases Over 2018

FCA has announced the initial pricing for the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 in Quad Cab and Crew Cab form, with pricing for the smaller cab starting at $31,695 while trucks with the larger cab start at $34,495 – neither of which are much pricier than the outgoing models, even though the hybrid drivetrain is standard in many of these new Ram 1500 packages.

The 2019 Ram 1500 made its grand debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit with a new exterior look, a more heavily-appointed cabin and a standard hybrid Pentastar V6 drivetrain. There is also a traditional Hemi V8 and a Hemi hybrid with a similar eTorque system to the one featured on the V6, so inside and out, top to bottom, the 2019 Ram features improvements when compared to the current trucks.

This morning, FCA announced the first batch of prices for the 2019 Ram 1500 and while it costs more than the 2019 models – the price increases are smaller than we expected when you consider all of the improvements for the newest generation truck. Here is a quick look at those prices and how they compare to the current model prices.

"In launching the all-new 2019 Ram 1500, we knew it was important to offer class-leading features and technology. But it's also important to offer our great product at a competitive price,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Truck Brand -- FCA. "We feel that we've delivered the right no-compromise mix that Ram Truck customers will appreciate."

2019 Ram 1500 Pricing
Today we learned the pricing for the 2019 Ram 1500 in Quad Cab and Crew Cab form (still no mention of a Regular Cab), in six different trim levels with the V6 Hybrid, the Hemi and the Hemi hybrid powertrains. We don’t get any detailed pricing, but we know roughly how much it will cost to get into the all-new Ram trucks when they hit dealers later this year.

First up, the least expensive 2019 Ram 1500 is a Tradesman short wheelbase models with two-wheel drive, the Quad Cab and the V6 hybrid drivetrain. This entry-level pickup has an MSRP starting at $31,695, not including the $1,645 destination fee, leading to a total starting price of $33,340. For comparison, the 2018 Ram 1500 Tradesman with the Quad Cab, rear-drive and the non-hybrid Pentastar V6 starts at $31,990 with destination, so the all-new model with a long list of unique features including the hybrid drivetrain is only $1,350 more than the most-comparable outgoing truck.

On the top end of the 2019 Ram 1500 spectrum is the Limited Crew Cab 4x4 with the non-hybrid Hemi V8, which starts at $59,035 including destination. The comparable 2018 Ram 1500 has an MSRP with destination of $58,170, so the new model costs less than a thousand dollars more even though it is loaded to the hilt, including the gorgeous 12-inch infotainment screen.

Finally, adding the Hemi to those trucks that come with a standard V6 adds $1,195 and upgrading to the hybrid Hemi from the non-hybrid will add $800 on top of that.
