Tesla is one of the most well known names in the modern day automotive industry. It is the leading automotive manufacturer for battery powered cars. Yes, that means zero gasoline usage. It is without question that the evil genius behind this company, Elon Musk, has done anything except the abnormal. Their brand released their first car in 2008 and today in 2020 it is one of the most popular and practical options you can get on the market. Tesla’s have entered the market from the top down as they are quickly on their way to meet the $20,000 to $30,000 price mark, but their most popular models are $35,000 and above.

The brand is most noted by their quirky leader, their long range capabilities under one singular charge, their surprising performance aspects, and their cutting edge technology. Currently, the Model S holds the record for the longest range on one charge which was 370 miles, but Elon claims 400 miles is coming soon and also claims that the coming soon 2nd gen Tesla Roadster will not only be the fastest production car, but it will also have a range of 620 miles which is absurd.

25 lucky folks have gotten their Tesla Model S Plaids. I can’t imagine the thrill. I’d have to guess It would be similar to what Ford’s CEO Jim Farley felt behind the wheel of the Mustang Mach E 1400. When Porsche says the Taycan will sprint you to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, but you get there in 2.4, it’s probably pretty fantastic, too.

Tesla is currently behind schedule and was supposed to come out with Version 9 almost a month ago. It is probably smart for Tesla to take their time on new updates given they just switched away from radar.

Musk has voiced his frustrations lately with the German bureaucracy’s unwillingness to want to speed up the process to approve the new Gigafactory. Now, environmental groups have filed a complaint to try to block Tesla’s construction of the Gigafactory.

We have some stunning areal footage from up above Giga Shanghai, from YouTube user Jason Yang. It's impressive the sheer amount of infrastructure required for this Giga factory.

With Tesla’s spectacular Model S Plaid event and Ford’s Maverick reveal, it can be hard to remember that we’ve been suffering a shortage of both new and used vehicles. Today, we got sightings of both a Spy-shot Clad Rivian R1S, and a show-room floor Ford Mustang Mach E in the wild. I’d like to think that at least some of the waiting for deliveries on ordered vehicles may finally be coming to an end.

As Tesla moves forward in their quest to bring full self-driving onto the road, companies like GM and Volkswagen are following suit. The HUMMER EV and any Cadillac EV will likely have Super Cruise installed. Unplugged Performance recently released a documentary featuring their Tesla Model 3 Team Car at the 2020 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb---a 10 minute (if you are really fast) run that some describe feeling basically like racing on Mars with its thin air, harsh landscape and terrain that sent their Tesla 3 flying. It’s a “bringing a phoenix out of the flames and into the summit” story as described by racecar veteran driver Randy Pobst.

Tesla is having a Model S Plaid event tonight at its Fremont, CA, factory at 7PM PST. There hasn't been a lot of updates on what is going to be shown here besides the Model S Plaid and I believe Tesla has a chance to surprise on the upside.
