2021 Toyota 4Runner Venture Edition: Where Adventure Meets Utility

Learn what unique features make 2021 4Runner Venture Edition one-of-a-kind.

One of the best parts of researching and shopping for a new Toyota 4Runner is the wide variety of available trim levels. People have many options based on their driving style, their hobbies and interests, and their family dynamic.

There are eight different grades for 2021 4Runner. Oh wait, I forgot about the all-new 4Runner Trail Special Edition. Make that nine trims.

Potential buyers may investigate SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Venture Special Edition, Limited, Nightshade Edition, TRD Pro, and Trail Edition.

Time to dive deeper into 4Runner Venture.

I see 4Runner Venture as a mixture of unique styling, function and utility.

The major “first impression” features are found with the roof and the wheels.

Venture comes standard with roof rail cross bars and a Yakima MegaWarrior cargo basket. This may be perfect for coolers, luggage, kayaks and any other recreational equipment you can imagine.

These 4Runner wheels really stand out to me and look tough and stylish. Look for 17-inch dark gray metallic alloy wheels with black accents, as well as P265/70R17 all-terrain tires.

Additional highlights on 2021 Toyota 4Runner Venture are black door handles, black-accented color-keyed front and rear bumpers, black rear spoiler, and all-weather floor liners.

Finishing the blacked-out look are black side mirrors and black badging.

As with all Toyota 4Runner vehicles, Venture Special Edition is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 engine that produces 270 horsepower and 278 lb.-ft. torque. It is matched with a 5-speed automatic transmission.

4Runner Venture utilizes a part-time four-wheel drive system.

It features a 23-gallon fuel tank and has fuel estimates of 16 mpg in the city, 19 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg combined.

Just like TRD Pro and TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium, the 4Runner Venture Edition is equipped with off-roading resources to help you on the trails.

Crawl control assists in regulating your vehicle speed while navigating tough obstacles and terrain. Multi-terrain select and locking rear differential help give you the most traction possible on virtually all surfaces.
