The U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 'Best Cars for the Money' Awards mean great news for Ford’s Blue Oval. The annual awards recognize vehicles that deliver the strongest combination of quality and value in its class. Ford is driving off with two awards in this year’s rundown. The 2026 F-150 wins the “Best Full-Size Truck for the Money”, and the 2026 Ford Expedition takes home the award for “Best Large SUV for the Money”. The Ford F-Series of trucks just cemented its 49th year as the best-selling truck in America.
How U.S. News Measured Value
A car’s impact on your budget doesn’t end the day you sign on the dotted line and drive off the lot. To capture a car’s value, U.S. News & World Report looked at two things: the car’s transaction price and the cost of keeping the car on the road. U.S. News relied on its partner TrueCar for real-time pricing for all of the vehicles considered for the awards. Another publishing partner, Vincentric, provided total ownership costs for things such as fuel, repairs and insurance. The pricing and ownership costs are evaluated to provide a measure of value for the Best Cars for the Money awards.
Ford’s 2026 F-150 Praised for its Wide Range of Pricing Options
Ford’s 2026 F-150 has a wide range of powertrains and trim levels which means that buyers can opt for whatever best suits their lifestyle and the vehicle’s purpose. U.S. News & World Report says, “The Ford F-150 stood out for its versatility and range of powertrain options.”
The F-150 celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025. Ford says the “F-Series' success is built on Ford's commitment to offer a diverse range of powertrains to meet every customer's needs. No other manufacturer offers the choices Ford does. From gas and diesel-powered workhorses to the PowerBoost Hybrid.”
2026 Ford Expedition Honored for Being Family Friendly
The 2026 Ford Expedition is known as a family hauler. In its description of the Expedition as “Best Large SUV for the Money”, U.S. News praised the Expedition for “its spacious interior, family-friendly technology and commanding performance.”
The Ford Expedition won another interesting award this week. It was selected as the "Car Mom’s 2026 Car of the Year".
Here is part of what the reviewer Kelly Stumpe said.
“This award is about functionality that truly supports families. Each year, we begin by evaluating notable redesigns and mid-cycle refreshes that were available for sale in 2025.
From there, we look at how those vehicles actually perform in everyday use. Features like car seat hardware, third-row access, improved technology, and safety updates all play a role in shaping the overall experience. It’s the combination of these elements that helps a redesign truly stand out.
That’s where the Ford Expedition rose above the rest. In my opinion, it’s the most car-seat-flexible SUV on the market right now.
This one is especially personal for me because I drive an Expedition MAX for my own family. It’s the vehicle I rely on every day for my four kids, our car seats, strollers, groceries, and everything that comes with this season of life. Here's why the Ford Expedition earned the top spot:
The Gold Standard for Car Seats
The car seat setup in the Expedition is truly incredible. It’s three-across friendly, has lower anchors in the third row, tether anchors in every seating position, and headrests in every seat. These are details that matter for safety, flexibility, and long-term usability as your kids grow.”
Why These Awards May Affect Your Buying Decisions
Short of buying a new home, a new car is the biggest purchase most consumers will ever make. You want a car that gets you the most bang for your buck, both at the time of purchase and down the road, as fuel costs, repairs and insurance premiums all affect how much you’ll spend over time.
The U.S. News 2026 awards cover 20 different automotive segments, including cars, SUVs, minivans, trucks and electric vehicles. Each winner supposedly offers the best combination of quality and value in its respective class. Each winner is projected to be a good deal over the course of your ownership.

Meanwhile the feds are investigating Furd. Interesting that oh Furd is ranked on top. Hmmm... Wonder how much fomoco paid for this article? Nothing to see here huh? I have a feeling Furd will be taking a huge bailout in the future again. History repeats itself! They still hold the largest bailout in automotive history 😉
